There are two basic types of beer. Lagers and Ales. Lagers are bottom fermented at cold temps and are typically lighter crisper cleaner tasting. Ales are top fermented at warmer temps and are typically fuller darker hoppier tasting. Pilsner is a type of lager. Most American beers are pilsner lagers. The Germans make some awesome pilsners. Which are lagers. "Banquet" is just a marketing term. Coors is a pils lager. _
Cool story about Narragansett. A few years back I met a member of the Heffenraffer family. They were the original brewer of Narragansett. The story was that his great great grandfather emigrated from Germany after the Civil War and was supposed to meet some family somewhere in the midwest, Milwaukee probably, where they had started a brewery. After landing at Ellis Island, he got on the wrong train and ended up in Boston instead. Where he eventually opened his own brewery. The rest, as they say is history. This is the beer that Quint crushes in that iconic scene in Jaws. Although with a much different label.
Went to the Bronx Brewery Thursday and picked up a six of Pale Ale and Sessions IPA, both are very good
F'ing Jets made me alcoholic. Can't watch a Jets game unless I am drunk. Today, Bud Light Platinum. 6% alcohol. Not bad.
Am at a local vineyard for a wine tasting and just discovered they make they're own bourbon. Oooof. Jet game is going to be fun. _
Kurdistan is my dream. If we ever have our own country, I will celebrate it with Bud Light Platinum. Are you gay? Why the vineyard on a football Sunday? Fag..
Bought 3 bottles of wine, just cracked one and have bone in shell steaks ready to hit the grill at half time. Long night, Jets then Mets. No work tomorrow. _
Enjoy Stokes November 15 will be my last night in USA for a while. Rotterdam after November 16. Family stays here. Will spend weekends at New Jersey and weekdays at Rotterdam. Fuck my life
We accidentally drove onto the trolley tracks in Rotterdam when we misread the street signs. Netherlands are great. Not home with family mind you but not the worst place you could go. Bring the wife over and take her to Bruges. Speaking of which, do you want me to check in on her? _
