Professional hitters can pick up the realease of the baseball better from the opposite hand.

When you are facing a pitcher, if the arm is closer to you (righty to righty or lefty to lefty), it is harder to hit than if a pitcher is coming at you from the opposite side (lefty to righty or righty to lefty).

The ball comes at you in a more difficult direction. It's harder to see.

The nuance after that is, there are so many righty pitchers that most righty batters growing up have seen so many of them that they have a better shot to hit them than lefties have to hit a lefty pitcher.

There are much fewer lefty pitchers so lefties don't see as many growing up as righties see righties.

Lefties have a really tough time hitting lefties because they grew up not seeing a lot of them.

So the lefty righty switch actually makes a big difference.

Actually you want breaking pitches to go away from the hitter, not towards the hitter..........

They can't string together hits. It's been Conforto or bust.

Please score more. I hope Davis doesn't play a role in today's game.
