http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...ets-locker-room-for-bugs-before-sundays-game/ The last line is kind of funny. A day before the NFL dusted off #DeflateGate with a 59-page legal filing, the league looked for even more evidence of potential cheating by the Patriots. Boomer Esiason of WFAN reported on his weekday radio show that the Jets asked that their locker room at Gillette Stadium be swept for bugs in advance of Sunday’s game against the Patriots. Contacted by PFT, the Jets declined comment regarding the situation. A source with knowledge of the situation tells PFT that the Jets did not request that the locker room be swept for bugs; however, the source did not deny that the locker room was swept for bugs. The Patriots likewise had no comment on the situation, and the NFL could not immediately be reached for comment. Concerns regarding the presence of bugs in Gillette Stadium locker rooms aren’t new; it was one of the main points made last month in an article from Sports Illustratedregarding suspicions about the Patriots. No listening devices ever have been found in any locker rooms in the Patriots stadium. As one source has explained it to PFT, the Patriots have become concerned that a team eventually will plant bugs on its own and claim that the Patriots put them there. This has prompted the Patriots to ask the league to certify before each game that the visiting locker room is clean before an opposing team enters. Per the source, the NFL has declined to do this.
where did you come up with that thread title? I'm on Tapatalk so I can't read the twitter thing but the article specifically says the jets denied that.
Jets need to hire some former CIA Operatives through a bank account in the Cayman Islands to handle this stuff
The Jets actually declined to comment. Boomer says they asked and everyone's new favorite NEP mouthpiece Florio says they didn't.
Roger Goodell is such a joke. Any halfway decent commissioner would never have allowed the cheating to get to this point.
Boomer is a cocksucker. I'm done with him. Ever since Geno declined to appear on his irrelevant radio show that no one listens to he's been all over the Jets.
Does anyone else think this is the P*ts saving their own ass? They request a sweep because they fear another team will plant evidence, now if they ARE caught bugging the room they can say "it was planted we told you months ago we feared this would happen." If they are bugging the other teams locker room (admittedly an accusation not a fact) this is fucking genius.
Just the media trying their hardest to find something jets related to talk about... nothing here folks.
Entirely possible. maybe it's one of the things the league covered up and tried to punish retroactively with deflategate.
i don't look at this as a jets bashing thing, but rather a "look what the pats have done to themselves" story line.
I don't own a car..on the rare occasions that I rent one I flip on New York sports radio. Boomer and Carton are unbearable. I think the last time I listened to them was in the height of deflategate. No, two, New York sports radio hosts are more apologetic of Mr. Robert Kraft. "there is no way Kraft could know." They act like Kraft is some kind of Saint, unawares to any corruption in New England; completely duped.
He must be pissed that his buddy didn't get the GM job with the Jets. He was acting all important and proud in the offseason with how his buddy got interviewed for the job, saying that "Hey Jets fans, your owner knows what he's doing, he's asking the right questions. That's all I'm gonna say". He thought he'd have like first dibs and inside information with his buddy getting the job. Well, didn't work out that way. Poor Boomer.
1) Pats are cheaters, Belichick and Brady are cheaters...Kraft is an enabler...and one of the oldest liars around 2) Pats are a good football team, Brady is a good football player, Belichick is a good football coach....Gronk is the best TE in the game. 3) Every team is looking for an advantage. Most teams are looking for advantages without crossing or bending boundaries of the rules 4) The Pats cross and bend the boundaries of the rules (spying, deflating, stealing plays from opponents locker rooms, etc..) 5) Brady has been in the system there for 15 years now...around the same offensive personnel for 5...There offense is a machine, operating and executing with precision. This is the result of continuity. More than likely the Pats go undefeated at home this season. I don't know any team left on their schedule that is going to go into their house and beat them barring any more injuries to their OL or to a certain QB or TE or a suspension of a certain QB. "Allegations" are going to continue to revolve around the Pats as long as the three headed serpent Belichick, Brady and Kraft remain in power..and continue to win. Certain sports announcers will 'forget' wrong doings and sell the Pats as they appear on the field; great. Allegations are just that...hearsay, nothing more. We want the truth, we can handle it. Desperate times call for desperate measure. The only way the truth of Patriot corruption will ever fully reveal itself, is when the Pats struggle to perform. If that ever happens and Belichick ever questions a change at quarterback or Brady panics for another edge to gain an unjustified advantage....it is then that the lid of uncertainty is blown off as cover and the truth will come out. The last thing that the Patriots can handle is another 'probable' cheating allegation. Belichick and Brady are both sitting on two strikes. You have to believe that if the Patriots are the cheaters they appear to be...eventually one of the two will get caught again. As of right now, this team has little reason to cheat. Somehow the three headed serpent has survived all wrong doings of the past, and maintain the most polished offense in the NFL; with an almost evenly polished defense. The entire league is watching the Pats under a microscope. Even as Brady leads his impressive offense he still faces NFL appeal for pending 4 game suspension. We still have a long way to go before the season comes to a close, but sadly...we are watching another likely Super Bowl bound New England team. A #1 seed, with home field advantage; healthy Brady and healthy Gronk; almost 'guarantees' their path.
Jets didn't ask for it, the Pats did. They wanted the NFL to do it, but they said no. So they probably hired a private company to do it. Talk about paranoia. Having to hire a company to sweep your own visitors locker room, because you believe that another team will frame you. They really are the NFL's version of a sociopath.
