Watched this kid play Notre Dame this year, and I'm predicting a Jimmy Garoppolo-like rise up draft boards. He's a BIG QB, listed at 6-6, 238 lbs. Big arm, quick release, and seemed to really have a grasp of his offense. Hit guys in stride with anticipation over and over again, despite having guys in his face for most of the game. Overlooked because he's on a bad team.
http://www.usatoday.com/story/sport...ohnapfel-umass-football-quarterback/30849143/ Backed up at Marshall for 2 seasons then transferred to UMass so he could play. Odds are extremely long against him, probably on the order of 100-1 that he's a decent NFL QB. The closest parallel is not Roethlisberger, it's Joe Flacco who backed up at Pitt for 2 seasons before transferring to Delaware and winding up as a #1 pick. Delaware was a good team in a weak conference. UMass is not.
