Wright is so over-rated it isn't even funny. Waste of a contract for a player who has spent most of the past 3 years on the DL.
The only person to have ripped off the Wilpons for more money was Bernie Madoff.

This game was lost when Clippard shit himself in the 8th, he gets that last out before Familia is forced to come in does Familia give up the HR to Gordon. Circumstances would have been completely different.

You don't. That is a killer for young teams in the playoffs. We are done. Had a chance to take 1-0 series lead on the road with deGrom pitching tomorrow. Instead all we will hear about now are the tired clichés: The Royals are "scrappy," "battle tested," "wanted it more in the clutch," etc

At least in 2000 it was Paul O'Neil. And I had more hair.

I can't handle history repeating itself. I'm generally optimistic, but...

I can tell these are Jets fans. Are the Jets and Mets almost exactly alike history wise? Hah.

My least favorite Met of all time. I've seen him come up small in too many big spots.

I am a Mets, Jets and Islanders fan. My entire existence has been one miserable sporting moment after another since 1986. I wasn't alive for the Jets Super Bowl or Mets 1st WS, so except for the Isles four year run and the Mets in 1986, I have been basically miserable for the past 40+ years. I can deal with the losing, I just can't deal with the all the bullshit that surrounds these fantastical collapses that always seem to befall these teams.

It isn't over. We should bounce back later today and tie it up. We have the hitters and the pitchers to do it.

Anyone else becoming more and more disillusioned with Cespedes?

Would love to believe that, but I have 40+ years of experience telling me otherwise. When you lose a game like that, young teams have a very difficult time recovering. It is too bad as I really thought they had a shot this year. Oh well, at least we have another young pitcher to undergo TJ surgery to look forward to next spring!

Between his dumb fuck play that led to an inside the park homer and the fact that he can't stop swinging at high inside fastballs that he can't hit with two strike...yeah, fuck Cespedes.

Mets apparently 0-5 lifetime in Game 1. 69, 86, 00, 15....wouldn't that make them 0-4? Idk but they've won 2 of those times and this one isn't over. But Game 2 is a must win now. Gave them the game from the first pitch until the bomb from Gordon in the 9th.

EDIT: Guess the 1973 WS appearance was lost on me. Only 26 though.

We should have won this game and didn't. What we should do and do do is, well, doo doo.
