If the internet existed 40 years ago I am sure you could've found some NO Saints fans who screamed about plays Archie Manning screwed up and how he cost them games, but taking a step back it was clear the he was not the reason that team was losing. On the +\- column of football he was a massive + and kept that team afloat. Now the 2015 iteration of the Jets are a good team--nothing like the sad Saints of the seventies--and BM is not Archie Manning, but the analogy stands: Marshall is easily a + when you take a step back and look at his pluses vs negatives. will he make mistakes? Sure. But without him would we even be in most of these games to begin with? Often not. So it is frustrating watching him blink on easy plays, but to say he cost us the game is going too far..... it is just like saying AM was costing the Saints games when he was keeping them alive. Just my $.02
Marshall has made some big mistakes this season, but he is a huge positive to the offense and one of the best WRs the team has ever had. Yesterday's "mistake" hurt but it was honestly not an easy play to make. You expect him to make it because he's so good but this wasn't a softly tossed ball between the numbers that he flat out dropped. A guy of his caliber should probably make that play 80% of the time, but it's not even close to being an easy catch. As for Eagles game, boneheaded play trying to lateral it but the team was already down 17-0. You can't pin that loss completely on him.
Brandon did not lose this game or that one. Lots of players made mistakes, they did not individually lose the game. The Jet D needed to get the ball back at the end and they allowed a TD drive. They played like they thought the Pats might take a knee at some point and then they could use their TOs
they had a receiver drop 6 passes yesterday. Edelman dropped an easy TD on Revis. White also dropped pass. Marshall dropped a TD. See what I mean? You have to overcome those things. They did.
I'll still take Brandon Marshall on our team. Great player, leader, and teammate. 4-2 at this point. Take it and we will look at the Patriots on 12/27
I dont know if this is a troll thread or not...Marshall has been a great addition but he's gotta make that catch. He does and theres about a 90 percent chance we win
We lost because the HC went conservative in the first half 2:00 drill and the last 7 minutes of the game. Hopefully we learn and move on.
I tend to agree, although there were a number of mistakes that factored into the loss. It is after all a team game. Ivory being hurt, and later Pryor, were also significant.
So, what happened to the Skrine blitz that was called 3 times consecutively vs Miami? You play a vanilla D vs Brady on 3rd and whatever and you see what happend
hate seeing this fucking thread. so idiotic. Marshall is a fucking beast. Stop with this fucking nonsense.
I don't have a problem with criticizing the playcall on that particular play. I do have a problem with trying to pain it like Rex would have done something different. Rex has done some good things as a DC, but he's as far from a genius as it gets at putting his players in position to succeed as you were alluding to. Just look at Buffalo, their 2014 dominant defense is already complaining about the scheme.
That particular play lost us the game. Rex wouldn't have been so timid in that particular situation. We can agree to disagree though whatever.
