Devising a game plan to tire out the heart of our team the pass rushers by only passing the ball was pure genius on his part
We knew before the game they wouldn't have success running the ball. If Marshall makes the TD catch we win this game. They just made the plays to win this game, we didn't. Outside of that it was a good, close game that we really should've won.
You know the Patriots offense was not really firing on all cylinders until Calvin Pryor came out of the game. They started targeting Bailey so much so that they took him out of the game according to the announcers.
Bowles is a rookie HC that got outcoached by a HOF'er and his HOF Qb. No shame in that. We played well for the most part and we'll play them again in Dec in our house. Time to move on to the next game. As far as measuring sticks go, we rated pretty high vs. the best team in the NFL. No need for head hanging and the circular firing squad.
Brady made the plays (specifically the 3rd and 17 and the 3rd down in the final minutes) and we didnt (specifically the Marshall drop). Those things happening are things that cannot happen against you when facing the Pats. I cant give Belicheck too much credit though. He looked defeated after Ivory scored the TD. Unless he used some mind trick to make Bowles not realize that timeouts stop the clock.
They were shorthanded with running backs and their best playmakers on offense are Brady, Gronk, Edelweiss. Put the ball in your best players' hands. I agree, that's very smart.
Have to agree with Champ on this one. Who attempts to run the ball only 5 times in a game? That must be a record low. But BB looked at film of the Jets, and along with losing the one back who could hurt the Jets with his speed, decided to completely eliminate running from his game plan.
They didn't run the ball because they couldn't. It wasn't the gameplan going into the game. If they had any early success running the ball, they would've ran more than 5 times.
I agree even on NFL network they where saying the Jets are a power house and this could be the AFCCG.
It was a hotly contested game by two good teams. The Jets proved they could line up against the Pats and play with them. In the long run, the Jets should gain some confidence from this game. Makes for a long week playing the "what if" game. If Edelman catches his TD pass and makes it 20-10 things might be completely different. Like your coach says, one game doesn't make you or break you. It was a lot easier to dislike your last coach.
and if edelman doesn't drop an easy TD or lafell doesn't drop 6 passes, we aren't even in it. It works both ways.
pass blocking is harder on O lineman than D rushers. Especially since the D men are rotated. O lineman prefer to deliver hits not absorb them
Your obsession with the Patriots cheating is impressive! I think approx. 875 of your 881 posts relate to said topic. Kudos!
Just watched the Bowles post game presser. Guy is unflappable. Took resposibility for some bad calls. Wants to see film and correct things. NE made more plays when they had too. He is right. Gotta move on and beat Oakland What more can u ask from a Coach?
I questioned a few calls, but we are on track for abetter record than 8-8, my preseason prediction With the way the troops are falling, however, I am just not just not 100% certain
