So Fitz is a Harvard grad and he really thinks it's a good idea throwing over the middle with 15 seconds and no timeouts? Stupid shit like that is really why you have to question someone like him being anything more then a temporary stop gap for this team.
Bowles said he called that play because Fitz was incapable of reaching the end zone from midfield. Can't really blame Fitz (other than for having a really weak arm, which we all knew already). I thought Fitz played a pretty good game but obviously Brady made more plays and that was a big difference down the stretch. We can win big games with Fitz playing like he did today, we just can't win against a great team when we are asking Fitz to be our best player on offense. He needs more supporting cast help.
There's no way that decision was on Fitz. Was obviously a terribly designed play. Shouldn't have had Marshall running 25 yards further than the designed target in Decker. Not that it matters in the end, it's one in a million chance scoring on a hail-mary.
exactly the point. Nobody is crazy enough to say Fitz is the future, but he is Mr. RightNow for this team. If and When Geno or Petty shows enough to Bowles to consider a change, then a change will happen but until then, We go to war with Fitz for better or worse.
Fitzpatrick was really good today. Threw some nice 3rd down passes. Maybe his best game as a Jet besides the early fumble.
That one to Cumby was a PI non-call. Should have been 1st and goal at the one. I saw one mistake, the throw to Devin Smith deep when Decker was open for the first down. Not the first time Fitz has done that. Still too much of a river boat gambler. But I think he played very well, good enough to win and this message thread should be closed for good. No way would Geno have done as well.

The default for announcers is the Pats make great plays. On review Fouts could have walked it back but he decided against it. That bothered me too.
I completely understand why a guy with his talent is working on his 4th team at this point. He's a great player but he's not consistent and his inconsistency tends to come out at the worst times. No idea what the Jets do about it though. He's the best WR on the team. Pryor getting knocked out of the game was worse than the drop though. Pats offense came to life after that and Brady began hitting passes over the middle like clockwork.
I'll agree with the 1st part but the 2nd part is a stretch to make it seem that anyone who likes Fitz or hates Geno doesn't realize a 72 year old QB isn't a stopgap.. C'maaaaan.. srsly?
