That study included only lost fumbles. They've only lost 2 of them so far, and one was by a player who had never played for the team before. No one who was with us prior to this season, with the exception of Brady on that strip sack, has fumbled. Where's the distinct disadvantage over last year?
the study last year was corrected by two other sources with total fumbles. my numbers this year are total fumbles. YOU LOSE THE HARD EVIDENCE of DEFLATOR TAKING BALLS TO THE BATHROOM AND BALLS NOT MEASURING OUT RIGHT EVEN WITH THE IGL.
Indeed, they were corrected to show that the initial study was flawed. They also assumed that fumble rates followed a Gaussian distribution, when that is not the case. A game of inches is all about the slightest advantages. Obviously players have to make plays and execute, but the advantages add up quickly when we are talking about a mere point needed to win a game. New England sets the tone for how far they are willing to push for those crucial advantages. At this point, if you are not trying to sneak some kind of advantage you're an outside franchise looking in. We know the Patriots are cheaters, but that doesn't stop New England fans from dumping massive amounts of cash to keep seeing their team in front. And if you are someone profiting from the NFL, why the fuck would you get in the way?
