I want to play the blue jays. That KC lineup is so scrappy and their pitching is worse

Exactly what I was concerned about but there's nothing we can do about it now so I'm going to just enjoy the ride.

Im not too concerned about the rest. In reality it worked out great for us because of Cespedes' shoulder and with our pitching , the less starts the better.

Most likely once the outcome of the AL series is determined.

It will be deGrom though. There's no doubt about that.

I just wonder if Matz will get a start or if they roll with the top 3 guys.

Yeah I'm not so sure. I think he's going to go with Harvey. This will be the culmination of all the crap that went on this season and I think he'll want to give Harvey that honor and give deGrom that extra day because he might be fatigued. Collins made it known that Harvey was pitching game 1 in this series and how it lit it up for Matt.

But he'll definitely pitch deGrom before Syndergaard.

And depending on how games 1-3 go I think will determine Matz in game 4.

The Mets had 5+ days of rest between the end of the regular season and the NLDS. Assuming the Royals win tonight they'll have exactly five days of rest...non issue.

Eh I actually think Toronto's group is better than the Cubs, or at least deeper. But the Royals would actually worry me more

The Royals are more of a contact hitting team so yeah, they'll give us more trouble than the Canadian Sluggers. I still can't believe this team's run from July 4th until last night. Perhaps NY's Sports Luck has finally changed. After watching the Mets, I actually like our chances in Foxborough this weekend!

I would be pretty surprised with that but we'll see.

Either guy puts us in great position though.

I really like Stroman. And Price is Price. The depth of Toronto's SP is better than Chicago's for sure.

I want to face KC and I think we will. For them to blow a 3-1 lead and lose the last 2 games at home just doesnt seem plausible. Only thing that worries me about them is that they were there last year and came really close. Pretty much the same team minus Holland plus they added Cueto, Zobrist and Morales since then.

I'll be more comfortable going against their offense rather than Toronto's though.

Jays middle of the order will keep them in every game. I dont wanna deal with that.

Considering the nature of our young staff and how many innings we ask them to go I do think the rest is a positive for this team more than any other team that has had such a break.

I don't think we score a ton of runs even if we had less days off, but letting Harvey heal from the line drive and Degrom rest will be huge.

Mets will have 6 days rest

Royals don't play until tomorrow. The ALCS winner will have either 3 or 4 days rest

As much as I hate Sandy and the Wilpons I have to give them credit they deserve. The trade deadline acquisitions and later obtaining Addison Reed, Eric Young, etc. not only gave the Mets professional bats and an impact player in Cespedes. But it re-energized the team. A lot of the improvement was because of good performances of players already on the team, like Grandy and Murphy and Wright, etc. And I think they were jump started by these deals. The Mets always had the great pitching to go deep in the playoffs. They just needed some offense. So if you ask me who should be MLB Executive of the Year. I'd have to vote for Sandy. Because his transactions had the most effect of any team in either league.

Sitting in my living room on July 30th, I watched the Mets blow away a lead to the Padres, in which Justin Upton hit a home run off of Familia in the pouring rain. I thought then, with a three game series looming with the Nationals, the Mets were dead. The following day, the Mets acquired Cespedes from the Tigers and that same night, Flores hit the game winning home run and the Mets went to sweep the National. The Mets went on an incredible tear and never looked back.
Due to me being on workers comp, I was able to watch about 150 Met games. Its hard to believe, that this team had Mayberry, Campbell, Plaweki and others playing significant time. I personally saw the emergence of Familia and Syndergard come into their own. I m really at a loss for words right now! This team is really amazing!.Enjoy the ride everybody, because this team is truly special......... LETS GO METS!!!!!!!!!!
