I can't tell if I love him because he is a good solid smart pragmatic adaptable calm clever coach who doesn't suck off his players, or if I love him because he is not the trash brash idiot Rex Ryan.
sounds as though he is prepared to fire them up when they are down. he is a good leader and has the team playing well. I'm happy
The defense is much better under Bowles, the offense is much better under Bowles, the team is disciplined, we're not taking stupid penalties all game long, we're not dealing with the worst clock management in the NFL. We're not looked at as the joke of the league. What's not to like?
literally amazing quote by bowles today "i think we have the potential to be a decent team" he said. rex would have been talking super bowl by now
This comment if not provided in jest transcends any kind of football logic....akin to Rome should have been built in one day. Good Lord.
Bowles character clearly projects his mantra that actions speak much louder than words. Need we say more?
I heard the same quote on the radio after the game and loved it. It's exactly how I feel as well. Still mistakes, but we have the chance to be decent, and by decent I mean we can get to the playoffs and maybe make a little noise.
Not taking anything away from Bowles, but I hope this defense and offense is better under Bowles considering all the nice new players who was sign on the offseaon.
One of the things that stands out to me about Bowles is how this team responds to him. His statements about what needs to be worked on and fixed during the next week of practice usually are corrected.
Actually that is my one gripe so far. Even with a good win he still wants to comment on the things that need corrected. Im all for it being being mentioned and corrected, but big them up and let them enjoy the win. Then take that stuff on the chin and bring it up at training. He takes responsibility though which is cool. But after so many wins Im not sure as a player I would want to keep on hearing the small things they messed up.
You don't know Bill Parcells, or Bellicheat if you are complaining about this. They never allowed the team to get to high on themselves, they are not pessimistic HC, they know that the little things will make a difference during the games vs playoff caliber teams. So they keep these things at the forefront.
I would have waited to post something like U posted until after the Pat game this upcoming Sunday. Lets C we beat one decent team & 3 bottom feeders now we are going up some levels in talent to the Pats. As Bowles said the trip from the penthouse to the outhouse can occur real fast
I don't care if we lose by 20, as long as they play good football. Play hard, play fair, play smart, the better team on any given Sunday...
I could not disagree more. I think Mac gave us a good roster and Gailey and Bowles have been squeezing every last bit of production out of it to date. We're going into NE relatively healthy, unlike PHI. If we lost by 20 then the roster isn't as good as I think it is. I'm expecting a hard fought game, not a blowout.
I'm with you--its been a pleasure to be in every game, making half-time adjustments, decent play calls, mixing run with pass, getting turnovers, playing hard and controlled--want to see the same against NE and I'll be content. If its close, even better.
