Speaking of the Pats, quick sidebar: watching the colts-pats and the NE defensive starters are announcing their name and school attended.

It's rare that an NFL team has three unit starters from the same school.

    The Patriots do: Rutgers.

Completely agree with this. I know Kerley is a slot guy and decker has been playing well there but I find it hard to believe Kerley wouldn't be able to make more plays than Enunwa even if he lined up on the outside. Our offense is like 99 percent ivory, Marshall, decker. I would think at some point we need contributions from some others.

Truth be told the pass on this particular play was hardly a perfect strike, it was a bit of a brick down low that Enunwa had to go down for nor was it for 10 yards either. That aside, what part of "Fitz did well" and "since we're post-win nitpicking" didn't pass muster?

It's a real thing. Fitzpatrick took off on an 18 yard TD run through at least 5 Redskins defenders. When was the last time you saw a 32 year old QB decide to just take on the entire secondary like that?

What play did he audible into on the first play against the Fins when he saw the box was stacked against Ivory? A bomb.

All the other scrambles where he's head-firsting instead of sliding?

All the deep throws into coverage?

It's magical thinking at work. At some point it will probably beat us but so far it's creating a much more dynamic offense than we could have predicted at the start of the season.

Magical thinking is real. It's like the dreams where you can fly or the conversations you have with yourself trying to get just the right line setup when the blonde down the bar winks at you.

If this was a joke it was really well executed imo. I laughed my ass off.

Fitz has a history of wearing down and playing worse as the season goes on. He also has a history of being beaten into the turf (52 sacks his 2 yrs in Buffalo).

2 sacks through 5 games will go A LONG way to helping Fitz stay healthy and playing at a 'high level' (well, you know what I mean) well into the season, maybe even the POs for the first time in his NFL career.

So yeah, 2 sacks maybe something to poo-poo now but it could be huge later in the season if our O-Line continues to keep him on his feet.

Fitz is what he is.......He isn't perfect and he is always gonna turn the ball over atleast once a game but he can still move the chains and manage the game well especially if the O line does the job they have done...if he starts getting sacked all bets are off

Yeah let give all the credit to Fitz for not getting sacked. I guess the OL has nothing to do with it?

The OL is pretty much the same from last season minus James Carpenter (who's done a good job and done better than I thought he would, but he hasn't transformed this line by himself).

Geno would have likely been sacked A LOT more by now.

I love how people know stuff we will never know. Yes we pretty much have the same OL but adding Marshall on the outside teams just can't stack the line and take away the run. The Jets had no wideout last season where a team even had to think about double teaming.

Geno was terrible at evading pressure. He has horrendous pocket presence. He would backpedal and take 10 yard sacks. Fitz at least can step up and makes much faster decisions. Of course we wouldn't know how Geno would have performed but based on history its a safe enough assumption.

See that where I don't assume when your talking about a guy coming into his 3rd year. Now with that said I still want to see Fitz keep starting. He needs to clean up throwing at least one int a game.

Hey, maybe I would have been wrong had Geno been the starter. I'm just going off his first 2 years in the league.

Some of the comments against the Bearded leader are simply laughable. Particularly after a solid win.
His pass was a long way from perfect, or his passing scares me, the catch by Marshall made a bad play look good, yadda yadda, yadda. Please note he had as many perfectly thrown passes that were dropped than underthrown passes caught. He is far from a Brady or Rodgers or Luck.....but he is our best option. He is a damned good game manager. And a pretty good field general. AND ABOVE ALL HE IS NOT LIKELY TO LOOSE THE GAME FOR US WITH STUPID DECISIONS. If their was a better option so be it, but right now the job is his to loose. Period.

I suppose some of you expected Fitz to play like one of the top tier QBs, which by the way also GET HELP FROM THEIR RECEIVERS on poor passes. For them that is skill, but for Fitz that is unacceptable luck I suppose.

We knew going in what to expect from Fitz and he is far exceeding our expectations. That is a lot more we can say
    About Geno at this point.
Not too many people on this board expected us to be 4-1...so if the best we can do is critize our QB because of his track history we need to really do some soul searching, because it appears some fans here are incapable of enjoying the moment.

It's time to get on the Fitz wagon and ride it as far as he takes us.
