The Jets will be in a base 4-2-5. I like our chances if we can figure out how to cover Gronk. (As long as Skrine and Marcus Williams are available to allow 5 and 6 DB's and no real drop off.)

Marcus is injured, Skrine suffered a concussion today. We need those two guys back for sure and I'd assume they'll be ready to go vs the Pats. If not it'll be a long day with...Walls or Dex as our 3rd corner.

    That's not farfetched.

Hopefully Skine's concussion won't keep him out. Neutralizing Gronk is the dream. Even if it's possible I'm worried that leaves Cro out there to get burned as the weak link.

Without blitzing, we showed zero ability to get to the QB today and the Skins were minus 2 starting O lineman.

dion lewis wheel routes are going to hurt us.

i am optimistic we will play well in week 8, and not like we are hung over from pats week, if that means anything

Yeah, where is the slaughterfest? This d line should be leaving orphans and crying widows on the sidelines every week.

We can challenge the pats. now the only thing the always kills us when we play the pats is field position our punting game is not good.that why the pats are always in great field advantage agains us.

Skrine is my wildcard in winning this game, if he doesn't play I'll be shocked if we win. They use so many flat plays that his speed and aggression at the LOS is vital in breaking their bubble screens and blitzing Brady.

There's no way that McDoodoo plays that role even half as well.

The skins were not running a spread offense, they were keeping a TE in to block and they were chipping the pass rushers with their RBs.

Sheldon should be a little better next week after shaking off some of the rust.

Not saying they will have their way, but Brady is great against a blitzing defense.

I'm sure Bowles will come up with a good game plan.

My concern is our QB play, it takes a very good QB to beat the Pats and a very clean game, can we get that perfect game from the jets for 4 quarters?

I am celebrating as I fantasize about Revis having a game-winning pick 6 next week. I can multi-task.

First real test of the season. This game will show whether Jets are legit or a product of a favorable schedule

I am specifically looking forward to watching the defense.

This. Being 4-1 is great but so far we've beat the Browns (with Manziel running the show for most of the game), Colts (struggling badly), Dolphins (bad team) and Redskins (bad team). We also lost to the Eagles who aren't really the best team either. Are we just winning games a mediocre team should win or are we a good enough team to beat someone like the Pats? It's also on the road which factors in.

I'm betting on a loss on this one but will be very, very pleasantly surprised if we come out with the W.

    1) Patriots are going to try and get Dion Lewis matched up against our Linebackers majority of the game.
    2) We shouldn't blitz much during this game and instead just rush 4 guys (Williams, Wilkerson, Richardson,Harrison) and drop everyone into coverage since Brady gets rid of the ball in literally 2 seconds.
    3) Sheldon should have a big game. Some of Brady's worst games came from defenses who were able to bring interior pass rush. The Giants did well with this.
    4) Patriots will stack the box to stop Ivory and force Fitzpatrick to throw it deep on them. Devin Smith will be an X-Factor

This would make some sense, but historically, Belichick's defenses rarely do this. They tend to keep everything in front of them and always have safeties over the top.
