This has to be a thread this year. I've never seen a game-breaking player makes so many plays for both sides.

He leads (or is second in) the league in WR fumbles since he came into the league. This is a byproduct of his astronomically high reception totals and his bruising running style after the catch. He'll fight and get those extra yards, but he's more susceptible to being stripped. I don't mind.

One of the keys to being a great player is to understand your limitations but not be constrained by them. If you're Michael Jordan or LeBron James or Aaron Rodgers you can basically do what you want but for almost all the other great players you need to play within your capabilities.

One thing I've noticed with Marshall so far is that he never gives up on a play, however sometimes he fights past the point of reality and creates advantages for the other team. If he can get that under control he's one of the best WR's in the game. If he can't he's just a game-breaker who will win more for the Jets than he loses but will drive us absolutely bonkers at times along the way.

He's over 30 and the old dogs new tricks thing may be in play here.

The effect is magnified for the Jets because Eric Decker shows some of the same tendencies and Ryan Fitzpatrick absolutely lives in magic land for better or worse.

He's already one of the best receivers in the league.

Not when he's giving the other team the ball. Possession is 9/10th's of the game and you can't keep giving the other team the ball.

Disagree. He's still a top 10 receiver in the league. You take the good with the bad in his case. He occasionally fumbles because he plays tenaciously and has trouble giving up on plays. With all of his production? I'll take that effort every time and live with the occasional fumble. What he has managed to accomplish with the quarterbacks who have thrown him the ball over the course of his career is rather impressive.

Btw, he's also an underrated blocker. He sort of reminds me of Keyshawn, in that regard.

With a guy who has some of the worst accuracy I have ever seen past 15-20 yards down the field.

The quarterbacks who have thrown Marshall touchdown passes are Jay Cutler, Kyle Orton, Matt Moore, Chad Henne, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Josh McCown, Jason Campbell, and Jake Plummer.

Put this guy in the Hall of Fame.

Still an obvious plus player with the added advantage of improving the play of those around him. plus, he likes to beat women, so there's that.

first jets receiver since Don fucking Maynard to have 4 straight 100 yard games.

Jets will go as far as he and Ivory take us.

I usually love your posts but you're smoking some serious ganja if you don't think Marshall is one of the best receivers in the game.
The guy is a freak of nature.

Just heard an announcer say this and was going to post the same thing - pretty hard to believe!!

That certainly puts Marshall's impact on this offense into perspective...

The man has come through in numerous crucial game changing plays for this team, something we haven't seen from a WR in a very long time and what is the thing to do?? Start a thread to point out his faults...way to go.

The concern is understandable. We can't have stupid fumbles from our receivers against good teams especially assuming Fitz is good for a turnover a game.

I never saw Maynard play though it was a different game anyway. Brandon Marshall is the best WR the Jets have ever had

    Physically/Athletically gifted...Yes

Maynard is the best WR Jets ever had. PERIOD dude.

Just cause it was a different game does not make it easy to be great back then...Maynard was old reliable and his hands were like glue. Toughness on top of it...Right now Marshall can be great if he continues to play like this level for a bunch of years with us.
