Coaches will always forgive a mistake when it's made in an aggressive attempt by a player to make a big play, like the Marshall pitch. It's what they call a "good mistake", as opposed to a "bad mistake".
Someone needs to tell our punt returners to let it go inside the 10, no fair catches inside the 10 yard line is the rule!
And conversely, someone needs to tell our scouting department to secure a punter with a consistent NFL leg.
I like Gailey, but that run after the big Ivory play was stupid. That was the perfect play action opportunity! You don't just keep running until you get stuffed, you have to mix in the pass! Even with Chan we're still doing that. ugh.
What do you mean, Quigley has been great for us! He consistently causes fair catches and pins opponents inside the 10. He's a weapon! A strong leg isn't everything for a punter, more important is skill with directional punting.
Ok Steve Hoffman, I stand corrected. Pinning inside the 10 off a short field is expected. And Quigley's directional punt to Sproles was a poorly executed mistake. Being able to salvage some field position when punting from deep in one's end of the field in the middle of December (esp. in the northeast) when playoff positioning is on the line separates the men from the Quigleys.
We can't get out of our own god damn way. Fuck Marshall he gives the ball away way too much. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I was initially upset our stadium has been so quiet, but this team has not given the fans much to root for by giving crappy NFC east teams easy wins. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
