Gilchrist and Pryor complement each other really well, and I think Gilchrist is largely responsible for Pryor being freed up to do what he does best. Great signing.

I think bringing him and his play have allowed Pryor to start to grow into the player we are expecting him to be. He has been solid so far and isn't getting beat which is a plus. This was a very underrated signing but so far is looking to be a very good one.

Really smart move after the fact. Some sites were bashing us for taking him and Buster Skrine for some reason even though they both look awesome. Cromartie was the bad signing, but I don't think the CS knew what they had in Marcus Williams.

Yeah, Gilly has been solid so far this year and I agree Cro for the money hasn't been as good. Although with Gronk being a big concern and the size difference between Gilly & Gronk so daunting we might need Cro and his length to cover him. That is if Gilly does struggle against him as the rest of the league. We'll see how it all plays out soon but for now its the bye week. Time to heal up and prep for the Skins

You don't cover someone who can't be brought down with someone who can't tackle.

Lol, no kidding. If Cro covers Gronk the whole game, Gronk might end up getting the record for all-time receiving yards in a game.

It is a nice idea in theory. Until Gronk actually has the ball in his hands at which point Cro should just run for his life or play dead.

But seriously, with Gronk it doesn't matter how big you are, you will never be able to cover him if Brady throws it up there. He will always have huge a size, speed or strength advantage. You just have to put 2 guys on him, one experienced cover guy underneath (Gilly) to jump routes like AA did last year and somebody like JJ over the top to prevent the bigplay. At least that's what I'd do. I'm sure Bowles will figure something out.

I think Revis in his prime could have been the only one to contain Gronk (not necessarily shut him down).

I'd actually give this a try if I'm Bowles, Revis shut Calvin Johnson in his prime down and he was an even bigger freak than Gronk is. Why waste Revis' talents on a scrub like Dobson. I'd put him on Gronk and then have Skrine/Marcus Williams and Cro cover Edelman and Dobson.

I like the idea of putting revis on gronk and Cro on gronk. Switch it up and play it by ear. Whatever's working stick with it. Cro is getting a lot of hate but he's been playing pretty well. The guys that beat cro are the smaller and quicker guys because his hips are tigh and his change of direction are below average. He can stick with gronk where brady might force the ball somewhere else. It's would be an interesting match up. I think cro has a better chance at stopping him then pryor or gilly.

Lets take our worst corner and put him on an unstoppable tight end and use phrases like "chance at stopping him."

We MUST be on a message board.

I was anti-gilchrist all summer.. won't lie. I didn't like much about his game in SD...but he's been proving me wrong so far. I'm happy with what he's done... so far.

  14. Very interesting idea you got there w/ Revis on Gronk. If you were to bracket that w/ Bailey over top(6'5 & can tackle) Oddly enough that would likely eliminate Gronk as a primary option.

It'd be up to the other CBs to step up & most importantly the whole D tackles well.

Just have to keep Cro away from those "short area" WR's Edelman & Amendola...He can handle Lafell though. Skrine & Williams live for short area WR's. I like the match-up honestly. But will they just try & pick on Cro? That's why he might just be more useful in that Gronk role. He at least presents a challenge w/ his size/vert & would have constant help over top to offset the tackling issue.

How is Cro our worst corner? The guy has been solid through 4 games and the only play I can think of that he got beat on was the Browns game.

Cro has the size to play against gronk. Do you want to stick a 5'9 corner on him? Cro can cover a guy like gronk because he doesn't have to worry about his lack of agility.

The problem is that Cro gets too much undeserved hate here. It's silly and shows a lack of football knowledge.
