Geno always leads his teams deep into the playoffs.

You're right - in his 2 years, Geno has not managed to take his teams to the playoffs. What's Fitz's record here again? Oh yeah - he hasn't taken his team to the playoffs in his 10 years in the NFL. Seems to me 0 for 2 is better than 0 for 10. And before you start going on about how Fitz was never on a good team yada, yada, yada, please remember that Geno hasn't been on a good team either and he's been on bad teams with terrible offenses and receivers who mostly had no business being in the NFL.

Geno is a young QB who has been learning how to be an NFL QB. He's made a bunch of mistakes his first 2 years, but every young QB does. He's had various periods when he's played well, notably the last month of last season, and periods when he's played badly. He has tremendous physical tools. Third year is traditionally when it all starts to come together for a young QB. We need to see if its coming together for Geno. I admit that its possible that it never comes together for Geno.

The simple fact of the matter is that Fitz is not playing well and the Jets are 3-1 despite Fitz not because of Fitz. You may be right and Geno may never be more than a mediocre backup NFL QB, but that's clearly what Fitz is.

I don't use one game, good or bad, to react either way and formulate my opinion about a guy. In my opinion, Fitz is a stop gap backup. His arm isn't Pennington weak but his football IQ isn't as high (despite going to Harvard lol). Chad didn't make the silly mistakes he does. Fitz looks like he's going to have a hernia just throwing to the flats. The guy looks like he ate some bad potato salad every time he throws the ball. He doesn't do anything effortlessly. I'm not sure if it's Gailey or Fitz just playing not to fuck up, but we leave teams in the game because we struggle to establish a rhythm through the air. Our defense has been coming up with huge plays to get us the ball only to have to come right back on the field. He's just not "the guy" in my humble opinion. And for anyone wondering, NO...I'm not a Geno Smith fan either.

Your argument is that Geno has potential to take us deep in the playoffs on a better team because he's young even though he's been awful for 2 years. Potentially that could happen. Potentially it could happen with Fitz being on a better team too and so far the team is 3-1 with him, however that happened so there's no good reason to rock the boat for nothing more than potential. If/When Fitz fucks up, Geno will get a try with a better team. Until then, hopefully someone else knocks him the fuck out.

Actually my argument is that its unlikely Geno will be worse than Fitz and he may be much better.

We had 10 turnovers in the first 2 games...and have played 4 losing teams overall

With our running game and defense it would take one hell of an effort to not be atleast 3-1

I can buy keeping Fitz in for continuity but don't try to act like he has anything to do with being 3-1....he's played pretty poorly overall and we've been fortunate that many of his passes were dropped by the defense

If he continues to play he has to be better, it's that simple

Longer hang time: Fitz deep balls or Quigley punts? I think it's a toss up.

That seems like a pie in the sky scenario given what we've seen and know of Geno. I'll leave it at that.

    This post has no cred.

Smith Fans make it sound like Fitzpatrick shouldn't even be in the league. My word.

Smith NEVER had tipped passes on his interceptions. He threw to defensive linemen. He was the King of the Pick Six. But we're supposed to believe because edray says he's watching the games taht Smith should be in there.

    No cred, dude. None.

jeez..Fitzpatrick has three wins in 4 games and it weren't for horrible defense it might be 4. If it was 3 losses we would all be screaming for a change but even then it would be split as to who we would rather see.

Did you just call the defense from the Philly game "horrible"? Did you happen to watch the game? The special teams gave up 7 and the offense had a turnover leading to a drive starting at the 30. That's 10 points you can't blame on the defense (you can blame 4 of the 7 points off turnover on them because they could have kept the ball out of the end zone, but they were already in field goal range). So they essentially let up 14 points and less than 250 yards. If that's horrible defense I hope our offense becomes horrible sometime soon.

I absolutely did even though I was referring to the first half when we couldn't stop a thing. I see your point though, especially the special teams blunder. Still if we didn't fall into that hole I am sure we would have won that one too.

Fitz isn't going to come back from 24 down, but with our roster we shouldn't be 24 down too often.

Right, and that's why I think we would have won that game if we didn't dig that hole. Second half we didn't give up a point and almost came back anyway.

Can we please stop with this bullshit.

    Please.

2013 called --they want their last 4 games of playing very well back.

    Just stop already.

After 42 pages of this bullshit, I think some people just need a Geno refresher:

    First, some pick 6's?

I dare any of the Geno nutters to watch even half of these. They show Geno being inaccurate, weak armed, and most important CARELESS with the football.

Wow, the last 4 games of last year. Weren't they important to everybody involved? Jets, Dolphin, Titans, Vikings and Patriots. 4 of the 5 eliminated with no hope and the other with the division sewn up.

And you were even kind enough not to show the three straight interceptions in three straight drives against Buffalo last year.

Well into 2014 he played pretty well early on.....

1st 2 weeks against Oakland and Green Bay he had solid games (Green Bay was the game he threw the go ahead TD but dope Sheldon called a timeout)

Then against Chicago and Detroit he wasn't very good, not awful, but certainly not good enough

On to the San Diego time debacle and Buffalo meltdown with solid games against Denver and New England in between

He was then benched for a few games.....

He came off the bench against Buffalo and played well but the game didn't matter at that point....The Miami Monday night game came next where Rex wouldn't throw to spite Idzik. Can't really grade Geno here....

The last 4 games against Minny, Tenn, New England And Miami he was pretty good overall

Overall he had 2 horrible performances....a few not so good performances and the rest were decent or a good job

His rookie season he looked good one week and horrible the next and we kept going Win Loss Win Loss of I remember correctly

So overall it seems like he has some talent but his lows have been way too low....Just very inconsistent more than anything
