Sorry just don't agree if you look at the schedule and next 4 games.....If Geno plays alright for Geno we will still beat the Redskins at home. We will lose @ the Pats with Fitz or Geno. Against The Jags at home again we will win with average Geno or Fitz and @ Raiders would be a complete toss up The rest of your post is reasonable but some of us believe it's worth the gamble....I just don't see the huge downside if you play it the right way
The downside is that if the move goes south you're totally screwed. The media shitstorm would be immense and the marketing of the franchise, which is currently doing fairly well, would become billboard marketing again.
Why can't you put Fitz back in for good if Geno just looks as poorly as you think he might? A slightly improved Geno which is probably what you would get if you're going to be reasonable on either side of the argument is not going to lose games with this team any more than Fitz would....sorry I just don't see it that way and never will.
Atleast argue the points? I'm a "Geno fan" because he's the only QB on the roster who "might" be able to do big things for us in 2015.....Petty isn't ready yet and Fitz is a backup who will most likely sink as the season goes on....His throws are very alarming. Geno struggled as an inexperienced player in a poor situation for a young QB....Fitz has struggled his whole career as a starter
You're arguing fantasy land on what you hope your savior can miraculously become. You're argiung that he possibly might not be worse than Fitz. You're arguing that he somehow has developed a football IQ while being a punk about $600. You're a Geno fan arguing nonsense like the Tebots before you. At least those jerkoffs has some religious convictions. _
Maybe a little confusion here......your version of downside is Geno playing out the rest of the season and totally collapsing which obviously there would be a great downside.....My point is I would never let it get that far so the downside is minimal to give it a shot. If Geno regresses and looks totally awful then we quickly replace him with Fitz for the rest of the season no questions asked
So let's experiment and possibly lose a game where the difference between a playoff spot and out is always one game. I weepz for the children. _
No I'm willing to give it a shot because I believe that Fitz will fail us eventually which his whole career suggests.....You're so arrogant and close-minded in your beliefs that you can't take the possibility of Geno playing even decent seriously Geno possibly being a better option than Fitzpatrick is not even that ridiculous for the biggest Geno haters out there.....we're talking about a bottom of the barrel starter here and frankly a career backup
Nobody goes back and forth at QB like that. It just isn't done in the NFL because it brings up the 2 starting QB's = 0 starting QB's issue. If the Jets make a voluntary move to Geno he's going to get at least 2 starts, maybe more to get on track and if he's not doing well in that interval the Jets playoff window will likely slam shut for the year. I'm guessing that we're arguing over nothing at this point because I think Todd Bowles is unlikely to want to make a switch away from Fitzpatrick unless his hand is forced by Fitzpatrick's play leading to Jet losses. There's nobody in the organization who has a vested interest in Geno at this point, since the GM and scouting departments who evaluated and picked him all got fired. He's got nobody pounding the table to put him in the game. Todd Bowles was probably the closest thing he had to a real supporter in the organization and Bowles probably doesn't want to cloud the QB situation at this point as long as the Jets are on track and winning. If the Jets beat the Redskins in 2 weeks they'll be 4-1. Who in their right mind would still be considering a QB change at that point?
Well I guess we just disagree on how quickly you can evaluate him but whatever we're not changing eachothers' minds on that I totally agree that Bowles probably won't switch unless Fitz really starts to struggle badly and/or we start losing games we should otherwise win.....Too much of a risk in NY for a first year coach in a city that has it out for Geno already to switch now when we are winning and "exceeding expectations" with Fitzpatrick in the media's eyes I'm just giving you my opinion on what I wish would happen just because I think the gamble is in our best interest If Bowles is married to Fitz for the season I really hope he makes me eat my words......With the schedule we have and the rest of our team I think we'll be atleast OK even with poor QB play
As soon as you think you should put Geno in your a fan in his eyes. Yes I'm a Geno fan and yes I also think he should be put in and see how it goes. I agree he should be on a short lease. Hell I'm waiting for Fitz to throw his shoulder out trying to throw it 50 yards. People seem to keep over looking that Fitz threw a at least one int in each game. He on peace to throw more ints then Geno did last season. Plus people seem to forget the Jets OL was garbage last season. I think Fitz been sacked twice this season. Not to mention the Jets now have a true #1 WR.
I believe I heard Bowles use the word "childish" in his initial response about the incident, a word you do not see much in the macho NFL. And his tone was one of disgust. And he specifically referred to both parties. You do not call a guy you expect to lead your team "childish." I think Geno would have to have a metamorphosis to become the regular starter on this team, after, of course, an injury or an implosion on Fitz's part.
The Jets are 3-1. They're not changing their QB. It's really as simple as that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
If you put Geno in to "see" how he does (not sure that has ever been done in the NFL) you might not only lose the game but you would 100% lose the locker room. Doing stuff like they suggest is what gets you labeled as a circus.
