I didnt even think about Bennett. He'd be a great pickup for us. Not sure what his contract is like either but he'd fill a huge need.

He makes too much money. The only realistic guy we could acquire salary wise is Slauson. And I'm not sure I'd want to disrupt the offensive line which seems to be gelling at this point especially in pass protection. Bennett is a pipe dream he simply makes too much money though. We're barely under the cap.
Word is the Bears want a 2nd or 3rd for Forte. Cant see them getting that for a RB thats almost 30 and a FA after this year But how about we give them a 2nd AND 3rd for Forte and Alshon. IDK if Ivory can last the entire year and Powell just left with an injury. A trade like that, although unlikely, would be a hell of a haul.
As a guy that's known for adjusting to his players, don't you think a tightend would be in the game plan if we had a viable option there? Bennett blocks too unlike Cumberfuck.
Sure, but we aren't suddenly going to revamp our offense around TEs. We'd just go from 0% throws to TEs to maybe 5% which just doesn't justify picking up $5m a year player that won't be used properly.
I mean he'sa 6'7" target. Gailey loves big receivers. Scott Chandler had good enough numbers under Gailey to stick around this league. I think Bennett would add a great dimension to this team, but as I said he makes way too much money for us to take on.
Well, then I suppose the Steelers must not understand either, because they used him as a LB for a year. So why don't YOU argue with THEM since I am going on the assumption that he could play LB from the FACT that he PLAYED at the position for the Steelers. You started by saying he did t play LB. I showed you he did. I'm not the one suggesting this and it wasn't my idea, but the name calling is infantile BS. at first I decided to type some more, much I'm not going to waste my time here. Welcome to ignore.
Lol whatever bro. You're a moron if you think Polomalu played as the 7th man in the box on anything other then third and longs. He's started 16 games at strong safety for his entire career. Go look it up and stop pulling bullshit out of your ass rather than using facts. Go back to 2011 when Urlacher still played.
That article doesn't really provide any source of information saying that the two teams are in talks. As I've said he'd be a great fit for this team. He just makes too much money and I would not want trading for him to jeopardize signing one of our young elite defensive lineman. Would you rather a garbage tightend that only blocks (worked pretty will with Kellen Davis today blasting holes open for Ivory) and Wilk and/or Richardson, or Bennett and potentially lose both?
Marshall is not a young player. He has also proved to be injury prone in the last couple seasons. Every team could use a 25 year old number 1 wideout.
Now that the season is underway I wish I had Macc's job. Sitting back in a leather chair, gazing out any of 6 large windows overlooking Jet kingdom, making random prank calls to other GMs. "Hey Butch, Macc here. What if I send you a 7th for Cuttler? Bahahahaha!!!" (hangs up).
