I don't remember fitz being this inconsistent when he was on other teams but I wasn't watching as closely either. Some of his throws today were really really bad. For a game manager he makes some dangerous throws. But we are 3-1. The jets should still re evaluate the QB position over the bye but Fitz will stay starter.
We are coming from Fitz was mediocre and very inconsistent for other teams, that's why he continued to be benched/released by teams with no solution at QB. The reason Jet fans may not be super familiar with his games is because the networks knew Fitz was about as exciting a player as watching paint dry, and the teams he played for were never televised (partly for that reason). Nobody wants to watch a weak-armed QB that turns it over a lot. And this fanbase will grow long tired of it well before week 17. That's why the Texans benched him last season despite that there was no overtly disastrous play by him. The team was in playoff contention all year but could not stand to watch the limitations of the offense with Fitz any further. I suspect there will be a similar sentiment by Bowles and company by week 9 or so.
He's never been a game manager and I doubt he ever will be. I'm not going to rip him today simply because every one of the routes Devin Smith failed to run today should have been run by Kerley, but he wasn't very good at all. Another game against a complete shit team that we left probably 20 points in the toilet.
We know Fitz isn't a great quarterback; but he's better than what we've had recently. We've played four games and almost matched our win total from last season.
Fitz is Fitz. At this point I could realistically see the team getting to 6-2 with him starting and making all the mistakes Fitz does. Our next four games are vs. Redskins after the bye, @NE, @Oak, vs. Jax and our defense is pretty fucking good. So what if we lose @NE and beat the bad teams? Are we going to complain about that? If Fitz & Devin Smith could get on the same page the offense might be pretty good.
I don't think Fitz is better than what we have had. The combination of Marshall and Decker is better than what we have had, that makes the difference.
He is not so lousy. He ran as good as Punched in the Jaw With a lead he is ok. We don't need fabulous
He got into Harvard with those grades He won an Ivy League champ too He can't play from the team being behind . Yet...
This is not a sustainable formula. But I already know that, just don't make excuses for shit that you wouldn't make excuses for if someone else was in at QB.
Please get Geno ready during the bye Tired of watching ducks every other pass We have played 4 poor teams and our defense has been ridiculously good overall....Ivory, the receivers, and the O line have been very good overall It's nice to be 3-1 but it has zero to do with Fitzpatrick...He did what a backup needs to do now back to the original plan
