The only brightside is that if we tie with LAD we get the home field. So we are ahead right now. If we win tomorrow and they lose it's over.
Nope, now it's tied. Even if we win two they can take home field with a sweep. The magic number for that is three.
I agree, this is pure idiocy, tanking when HFA is at stake whichever team plays Games 1 and 2 at home will have an advantage it will be very difficult to win the series if the Dodgers get home field
right as the mets were releasing lineup, the game got called off not sure what's going to happen now edit: oops, thought Mets were playing Phillies, need to pay closer attention MIAMI/Phillies was postponed
Mets game has now been announced as postponed Yankees game also PPD so three games tonight won't be played
Maybe they play a triple header on Sunday? Too funny, just saw it in the paper, the last triple header in MLB was played on this date 95 years ago. October 2, 1920 Pittsburgh v Cincy. _
Looks like MLB's perfect setup of every game beginning at 3:10 on Sunday and ending around the same time is not going to happen. Outside of the AL West though there really isnt much drama left.
And the Met bats continue to be invisible since Cincinnati, it's apparent this team is happy with just making the playoffs.
I think the umpiring in MLB is generally good, but the home plate ump today is horrible. Terribly inconsistent with the strike zone.
This team isn't instilling much confidence in me, or are we suppose to believe they are going to flip a switch in the playoffs?
Outs are as important as hits. Every time I see Murphy in there late I shudder...Damn. It was just a matter of time... Gotta win the next two, obviously....fuck
I still think we will be alright and i fell good that we get past LA. I understand the defense but I really like our offense with Wilmer in there over Tejada. I also don't understand sitting Curtis against the lefty but not Duda. Kershaw worries me the most, we are so much better against the right handers with Conforto in the lineup, so I am not as concerned with Greinke even though he a stud.
That loss pretty much kills the homefield. Not the biggest deal IMO but if it goes to a Game 5 that would've been nice to have at Citi. Going to LA for the first 2 puts all the pressure on the Dodgers. If we are able to get 1 out there and come back with Harvey in Game 3 against whoever they are gonna throw out there it would be a big advantage for us. I wonder if they hold off Greinke til Game 3 for that reason though. We'll see. The way this offense has been lately it might be better to get away for a bit and start on the road. Maybe the warmer weather out there will wake up the bats.
I've convinced myself I'm ok with this. If we can take one of the first two in LA, Citifield is going to be electric for game 3. Noah will be throwing 105 mph and will be unhittable. DeGrom and Harvey against Kersh and Greinke. Wow what a series. _
