Yes sign Bryce Brown! He's young, his measureables are sick, he's flashed his dynamic ability in games before. Fix his fumbling issue and he becomes one of the most dynamic backs in the league.
Bryce could play that Dion Lewis role. We need a dynamic pass catcher out of the backfield. The future of the RB is playing like a pseudo WR. Cowboys, pats, Eagles are ahead of the curve.
Bills gave up a 4th round pick to get him from the Eagles. Kind of shocking. Montee Ball was good in college, not sure what happened to him. But at this point he's probably another Zac Stacy.
Stacy did not look good on Sunday. WAY too sluggish for a guy making his team debut. I know he didn't get a ton of opportunities, but its become strongly evident the team needs a speedy cutback/receiving option out of the backfield. If teams wanna double up on the outside & strongly enforce their 2 gap...we need someone who can run a counter/get the edge/passing game safety valve. Ridley is the obvious answer..but he's 4 weeks away & who knows what he even has after a significant rehabilitation period. Stacy is good as an insurance policy for Ivory..but Powell runs w/ just as much power & can do much more. It's become power running overkill.
Bryce Brown has been a waste of talent his whole life - #1 Recruit in the country coming out of HS - Went to Tennessee, never amounted to shit - Transferred to Kansas St didn't do shit there - Decided to leave early for the NFL for some dumb reason even though he had proven nothing in college - Went to the Eagles, didn't do shit I don't want that fool
Wow. Bummer, I thought he played well and had a bunch of upside. But we're stacked I guess with Snacks & Barnes. Hopefully he makes it to the practice squad.
Most likely clearing a spot for a tight end. Perhaps Wes Saxton from practice squad. Hopefully Simon clears waivers and finds his way back to the PS himself.
Nobody yet but Bowles said during the presser they will sign a TE. Probably call up Saxton from the PS, it wouldn't make much sense to sign a FA at this point. He'd have like a couple of days to learn the playbook. Might as well just go with Saxton who knows the offense, somebody who we know, somebody who can actually catch unlike Kellen Davis.
Since were dreaming - maybe Seattle will announce they couldn't figure out how to use Jimmy Graham so they send him here
A trade is another option, you're right. Bennett would be amazing but very doubtful obviously. He's making 5 mil. in salary this year and with Mo waiting for a new deal that'd be rough. Technically we could release Cumberland, that's 2 mil. we'd save if that's even possible. He's injured, I don't really know the rules on that but I think he has to be healthy in order for us to cut him.
With Cucumber out, I HOPE Saxton can show something. I mean that position is literally for the taking.
I like Wes Saxton... he fits our offense well. Hard to vouch for a undrafted free agent though... he's a speed receiving TE for sure though, we'll see how he pans out.
