Maybe William Perry is available ...although he's a bit small now for today's NFL.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Teams that have fire sales like this don't dump up and coming players on their rookie contract, they dump aging overpaid players and underperforming players that have trade value. They're probably dumping these guys so they can afford to give Jeffery a contract when he's due.
Gale Sayers would be worth taking a shot at, he can be had. Great thread 3 games into the season the Bears are having a fire sale? If that's the case the GM and owner must be a Jets fan
Surprised that this doesn't happen more often in the NFL. Baseball has its buyers and sellers on the trade deadline, you would think NFL teams who are not doing well would "sell off" their aging contracts to teams who want to win now.
Didn't the Jets have their own fire sale just a bit ago? Let's be the grandmother who goes to garage sales to buy stuff for her own garage sale.
exactly. which is why logically the only thing we could really get out of them is martellus "the black unicorn" bennett. they would be out of their minds to even entertain offers for alshon
For a team that sucks they do have a decent amount players we could use... Ideally we can work out a deal to rip off Cutler's throwing arm and sew it onto Fitz, then we'd finally have the QB we need.
I don't know, maybe he can still play, I heard something about retirement but I think he has another ten years in him. I think we should also look at Jarret Johnson and Troy Polamalu, I heard the Steelers were looking to move him.
Skill position: Martellus Bennett, Matt Forte, Alshon Jeffrey And maybe some OL. They seem to be employing 4-3, so I doubt if their OLBs are of any use. [And they all suck anyway.]
Cutler is actually a better decision maker than Fitz is, although he's probably not nearly the leader/locker room presence that Fitz seems to be.
I think in this scenario the Bears aren't going to look for a ton in return, their goal is likely to stockpile picks and clear money. They might be willing to deal Alshon and Forte for a 4th each maybe a 3rd for Alshon.
Coples isn't a great player but people on here under rate him. He does a good job of sealing the edge, stopping the run and disrupts plays in the backfield more often then he's given credit for. He's not a sack artist, but he isn't a bad player.
It's okay. I set myself up for it and some of the replies are pretty damn funny. However, it is getting old now, especially as no one has yet replied to my message about why he retired and Jstokes decided to start some shit in the Yogi Berra memorial thread.
