Absolutely he can get smith the ball. The exaggeration of geno sucking is insane. The sample is 2 seasons on garbage offenses, with no wrs at all.
Its crazy to write him off.......for fitzpatrick...not Brady.. not Kapernick, bur fitzpatrick. Lmao

Absolutely right. Same thing with sanchez. And this was after FOUR road playoff wins. Lol as if we've had so many qbs (and coaches for that matter) do such things. Yes, amazing is a good word.

People act like fitz will regress if geno gets a shot.
Wtf is he going. He is what he is and will stay that way. What do you lose playing a qb who could throw for a half, a quarter, a drive. ? How can anyone possibly declare what geno smith is after 2 seasons?
How can anyone be unwilling to TRY an upgrade?
I dont understand, but we will see how this plays out.

In camp is one thing. Going against a team in real time is quite another. Geno has seen little to very little time in real time games (counting exibition games). It will take him at least 2-3 games to just be ready. Besides when you say Geno outplayed Fitz in traing camp, you do realize Fitz was still rehabing from a broken leg. Is the fan base ready to see Geno lose 2-3 games straight because he is not up to par? Again as I had said numerous times Geno will get the chance to play this season. What he does with it is the question.

If geno played like fitz he would be getting death threats.

But fitzpatrick went to Harvard...and is an over achieving sixth rounder so i guess he gets a pass.

There's no way geno could win with this team. He was late for a meeting last year.

Smith Fans are the worst. Even worse than the Tebots. AT least they were all about hero worship and didn't even pretend to know football.

The offense as a group was ass cheeks. end of story. From the play calls to the execution.. all ass cheeks. But i'm not going to pretend not having decker and ivory doesn't make ALL the difference.. Decker would've had a big game in my opinion.. moving the chains effectively. But it's all good.. go beat a struggling fish team and get sheldon back after bye and beat the hell out of the redskins at metlife.. and what do ya know.. we're sitting nice at 4-1.

The Tebow crowd and Fitz crowd r similar. Both are happy with half a quarterback.
We have Brandon Marshall, eric Decker and Devin Smith....how can you not want somebody who could throw the ball? Lol

You add nothing here other than worthless accolades supporting the worst Jet Qb I can remember.

I definitely don't blame it all on Fitz, but I can't absolve him either, he did make some bad throws.

BUT, we didn't have Decker or Ivory, 2 of our biggest talents on offense. With Chris Ivory out, we couldn't establish the run to save our lives, so it made us rely on the pass.

If I blame anybody for this loss, it is Brandon Marshall. We knew he was a headcase when we traded for him and now we see that shining through. I have to agree that Brandon going for the lateral when it would have been an easy first down was one of the dumbest plays in NFL history. I've never personally seen anything that stupid before. It was worse than Holmes throwing away the ball to the 49ers after going down with injury.

We went from being in FG range to giving up a touchdown because of one stupid play. Then he has that pass near the end go off his hands and get picked. Another turnover on him.

Despite all that we were still very much in the game even when there was just a minute left, but Coples killed us with his facemask. Anyone else getting tired of this? He seems to constantly grab face masks hoping he doesn't get caught, but that time it was the nail in the coffin. We seriously had several chances near the end to come back, but couldn't quite pull it off. The mistakes overwhelmed us in the end, but if we had Ivory and Decker, it would have been a MUCH different game. I also wasn't a big fan of relying on Devon Smith on huge important downs during his first NFL game coming off injury. They should have got him going with some easy short routes first. He isn't fully ready yet.

You need consistency in leadership. Switching QBs too much derails a team. We've seen it here before. If/when we switch to Geno I expect it to stay that way barring injury or a complete loss of hope for the season. We can't (and Bowles won't) switch back and forth every time one has a bad game.

Because you don't know much about football. I've never said Geno is the answer all I have said you can't judge him on his first 2 years. Plus to add Geno hasn't had any good wideouts to speak of until this season. What do the experts say? You really don't know how good a draft class is until 3 or 4 years after. Why do they say that?

If he plays how he played yesterday with Decker and ivory back next week vs Miami i think it would be appropriate to consider Eugene his spot back. Thing is... this is Fitz.. we're not going to get any better play from what we saw week 1 and 2. Geno has the upside.. he's the one that is still getting better and has to me a better suited skill set for the offense. I understand that Geno would've also struggled yesterday but i do also think Geno would've hit Devin Smith on those deep routes.. the defense was daring us to do it and honestly wasn't even trying to trick us into it.. it was there.. They just have no respect for Fitz arm strength and even when Smith had his man beat fitz wasn't able to put the ball where it needed to be.
