So do we bench Fitz? based on what you said before if Geno has one bad game you have to make a quick change to Fitz? So since Fitz had a bad game do Bowles make a quick change to Geno?
If you want to go 4-12 again you make a quick switch. The worst part about making a quick switch at this point is that if Geno fails then Petty probably winds up on the field at some point this season and that would be a disaster unless you view Petty as a throwaway asset to be quickly expended before we draft somebody next year or make a play for Brees.
He missed some wide open receivers too... That said... Deep breathe... Run with Fitz @Miami (London) before making any decisions. Got to see how this team, with Fitz under center, responds after terrible loss. There were a lot of drops today from both teams. We looked flat in the first half. We didn't get any breaks from officials. Marshall made one of the dumbest plays we have ever seen losing the ball. Today, we lost to a team that we were better than. Contenders don't do that. Time to see how our leaders respond.
Maybe the Bills will trade EJ Manuel....Tyrod "Who the hell is that" Taylor seems to be lighting it up for them
We can't make the switch after just one game. However, you saw with your own eyes the shortcomings of Fitzpatrick. I didn't mind the shots down field but he under threw too many. His arm is weak. Let's see what happens next week in London. Fitz will never be the guy to come back from 24-0.
If the Jets do not come out of London with a win... I want to see Geno back behind center. Today was a bad team loss, but Fitz shoulders the brunt of this one...even with all the receiver drops.
It's not about a win per say. For me if Fitz plays well/decent/solid but things happened outside of his control that cost us the win then it isn't fair to bench him IMO. I just love calling out double standards that's all.
I didn't move the goal post at all. I don't think a quick switch at QB off of a 2-1 start is likely to bring the Jets any benefits. If they're really on an injury run, which seems possible at this point I think you don't want to make other changes unless you absolutely have too.
No excuses// they outplayed us. Just not saying its all bad. Phillys defense IS good and their DBs continuously made good plays. We had a lackluster performance=we lose.
You never gave any context to your logic that one bad game from Geno and he gets a quick hook and you put in Fitz.
I hear you.... And you are not wrong. Fitz shoulders the blame for this one (even with all the other offensive errors ...Marshall toss turnover and drop picked turnover)... Just like any other Jets qb would shoulder the blame (Geno). I was not a Fitz believer from day 1 ... But I still want to see him behind center in London... He earned the right to makeup for today's setback
He hasn't earned anything in my book but I def think if a change comes, it comes after the bye Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk
Can you quote the post I said that in? It's hard to give context to a paraphrase like that. I likely said something like if the Jets are losing with Geno you give him a quick hook. Right now the Jets are 2-1 with Fitzpatrick. Maybe I said something more specific that's truly germane to this situation in which case I'll respond to that when you show it to me again.
The precedent has been set. If Geno played like this today we'd be talking about starting Fitz next week, and blaming Geno for the loss. So I don't want to hear about us missing Decker or Ivory, because those wouldn't have been valid excuses for those decisions and throws that we seen today. Now had playcalling and missing personnel been acceptable excuses for our previous QB's then I'd accept that excuse for Fitz. Sorry no double standards.
