I went to all the WS games in '86 as a sophomore in college. Although I thoroughly enjoyed it, looking back it is hard to imagine that I feel now that I didn't really appreciate how special it was. Living out of state now, I can tell you buying the MLB Xtra innings package in early August was the best $99 I think I have ever spent in my life. Man I love this team, these guys are just so fun to watch.

What's everyone think about the Harvey situation as it stands right now? Everything that was said today stated that it was his decision to go as far as he did. And not for nothing but looking at how the Cardinals handled their 2 young pitchers , Wacha and Martinez , is just further proof that there is no way to really protect these young arms. For those that dont know , they were both skipped to give them extra rest about a month ago. Since then Wacha has looked very mediocre and Martinez just suffered a shoulder injury that will end his season. Plus the Cards lead shrunk from about 7 games to 3 games. Now yeah both of these things could be a coincidence and totally unrelated to the team resting them..but IMO Harvey is just as likely to get injured on his first pitch of the game than he is his 105th. And rest really is only good if the player is tired. Otherwise it could do more harm than good. As for today , he seemed very choked up and emotional in his postgame interview during the celebration too. I just hope the drama is over and the training wheels are off. He has the ability to make more money than he ever thought possible if he leads us to the promised land..and Im not even talking about a contract extension from the team.
It has been way too long!!!!!!!!!!!! I had to run to grab dinner with friends and missed the last inning, but just hearing the final out got me all choked up. My GF was like are you alright?! I would think long delays between pitching wouldn't be positive either. You want to keep your muscles in action, and warm ups just isn't the same.
