Let's see how he does under adversity. Of course we all hope there is never ever going to be any . But I like what he had to say comparing this job to his time as Interim HC of the Fins in 2011. He basically said this was easier because all of the Miami players knew he wasn't coming back so they didn't have to listen to him. I think it shows a very experienced and practical side to this guy. He's a lunch pail type of guy. Plus he's not going to go to the media after a loss to Belichick and cry about how much better a coach Bill is than him. He's basically not going to say anything.
Still early but I like Bowles so far- a lot! I wanted to see how they came out after a loss and they started very motivated and crisp. To me that says no more bulkshit sucking off his players. So weird to root for a quality team. It's early and I've been burned before but right now I want Todd over for dinner.
I'm still in a wait and see mode, but he is doing pretty well so far. I like that he doesn't go over the top with wins or losses. He keeps things leveled. My only concern with that is if the team struggles through a stretch people will probably start saying that he doesn't care or lacks a sense of urgency. To me though, he hasn't really done anything that raises a red flag yet. Let's now see how he hangs with Bellicheck and the Pats with 2 weeks to prepare
That's kind of it, you see him smiling and he seems to enjoy it. Rex was like the life of the party and Mangini was the guy who nobody liked but was pretty good at what he did. I still think Mangini wasn't a horrible coach but I think the fact that he didn't have Tom Brady made him seem a lot less like Bellichick when in fact I think both were very similar.
I don't know, if I was a player, if I would enjoy playing for Bowles. Seems like the type of guy that's pointing our your negatives all the time. Let's see how he does the rest of this season and when he doesn't have a stacked line up. I have a feeling his act may wear thin on the players.
That approach is for losers who can't take criticism and refuse to aknowledge mistakes to improve. Parcells would eat that alive. A person who gets disturbed from a coach pointing out mistakes is not a player we want here. The greats are constantly working and thinking of how they can get better. If they got that attitude towards hard work and getting better. See ya, don't let the door hit you on the way out.
I have a hard time believing Parcells would work in todays NFL if he started his first job tomorrow. The only reason old school guys like Belicheat and Coughlin are still around and kicking is because of their pedigrees, players respect that and know they know what they're doing because they've done it for so long. Coaches have tried that tough act recently. The whole "my way or the high way", constantly demanding perfection(without having any success whatsoever at the next level) like Schiano and Chip Kelly and they're now out of the league(or soon to be.) But I see the point you're making, as well as talisanyon. I guess it just depends on who you have in the lockerroom. A player like Suh would completely give up working for a Parcells because he wouldn't be treated like royalty.
Bowles hasn't impressed me at all yet. Let's see how we do when we play the tough teams and as it is we should have easily beaten Philadelphia as everybody else seems to have no problem doing that.
Very inaccurate. Bowles says plenty of nice things about players, when they deserve it. And from what i can tell the players do llike playing for him.

Is the air still fresh? The current turning against Bowles is the most predictable reaction of the century. Mangenius, King Rex and now Bowles. Jets fans are so quick to coronate and even quicker to decapitate. You have a jellyfish for an owner. He makes his decisions based on which way the wind is blowing with the fans. I can see it now, 2 years for Bowles and off with his head, then a brand new coaching staff and at least another 2 years of mediocrity. Be patient, you can't expect to go from a bottom five team to a top five team in 1 flipping year.
