Answer to a big part of that with Kelly was discussed on the Philly media in depth throughout training camp, with Bradford still in the final stages of the recovery process they needed another arm to throw passes in practice and scrimmages.
Got a bad deal from the Jets? He was basically dumped by Denver before he ever got to New York. His stint with the Jets didn't help him any but there's a reason no one is touching him and why after 'leading' Denver to the playoffs, granted they got a 4th and 6th from the Jets, but for a 'playoff winning' QB that's chickenfeed in a QB hungry league. Reality is Denver wanted to go away and the only other team other than the Jets was offering only a 4th and wouldn't up the ante for a 'winning' QB.
It is what it is, He's just not an NFL QB.

IMO he has enough intangibles to be an NFL Qb. The Jets in a poor season by Mark only allowed him to throw a total of 8 passes all season. I think Kerley either threw a similar number or more that year. He was only given two series the entire year to run. And when he did play it was either on STs or on obvious running downs and he basically ran up the middle into a stacked line. Other teams haven't signed him because probably they consider his fan base and the pressure they put on organizations to play him as a distraction. Or don't want to fit his skills into their offense, in other words change things when he's in the lineup. As for Chip why didn't he just cut the guy and sign another Qb if he only wanted someone to throw passes in practice.

The obvious tactic in a Mark Sanchez thread is to bring up Tim Tebow as often as you can because he's one of the few QB's that makes Sanchez just look good in comparison.

Sanchez looks good to people without sight. However, he is better than Geno. Whatever that's worth.

Why not cut him and sign another QB? Because Tebow wasn't getting another job anywhere else. You can blame the Jets for Tebow's 'downfall' if you want, but there was zero call for him when Denver wanted to move him, well not zero zero but for a QB in a QB hungry league it was essentially zero interest.
As far as all the intangibles, That's kind of like saying 'But she has a great personality'.
