Probably Mehta. He swings wide and misses with about 90 per cent of the dogshit he writes. Cimini is usually a little mean spirited but he at least has some solid foundation with his takes. My least favorite sports writer is not associated with the Jets, but I have been praying for someone to beat him to a pulp for about 5 years now.
They are all pretty terrible. Its all click-based these days anyway too. None of them will really have an actual opinion on things either, they are just there to stir the pot and most root against the team cause things will always be more "newsworthy" then. Personally Manish bothers me the most but Cimini's articles are always tough reads cause they're negative after wins. Id like to see a guy who's a true fan get a beat writer job for us.
mehta. cimini is a snarky jack ass but atleast you can call him out on his articles. mehta is unreadable
A tie: Manish "anon. source" Mehta Brian Costello (a ©unt) Dom Cosintino (another ©unt) Steve "which way's the wind blowing?" Serby Ben Shpigel (NYT - they hate the Jets…and Yanks) Gary "Sandra Bernhard mouth" Meyers Not a Jet reporter, but long time Jet-mocking "NFL Live" host Trey Wingo is a snarky dipshit as well.
Fuck Rich Cimini. He needs a thesaurus. There are words other than "tweak" and "ilk". Also, he always finds a way to stick a jab in, no matter the subject. We could win the Super Bowl with an amazing 4th quarter comeback and this fuckboy would be writing about how we should have controlled the whole game or something.
Cimini gets a bad rep Yeah he tries to be funny too much, but I think he is pretty fair. I have read his blog the last couple of years, I feel he just calls it how it is. Sometimes he will say something negative that you as a fan might think is unnecessary, but I think that's his way of trying to show that he is neutral and not one of those homer beat writers
Gary Myers would likely start my list. I do admit that he is very knowledgeable about the game..he is the ultimate "sky is falling" Jet hater. Mehta has become more pro Jet but severely lacks football knowledge..or at least the inability to communicate it non verbally.I'm on board w/ the "Cimini gets a bad rep" brigade. He has a negative snarky tone but he knows football, knows the jets & is usually spot on w/ his "ahead of the game" reporting. Does Teddy Bruschi count?Does preseason Joe Theisman count? Jim Nance. Say what you will about Craig Carton but he has that snoot down perfectly."A'hello friends"..ugh..can't stand him. He was pretty much openly rooting against the Jets in the playoff win against the ****s in 2010.
I honestly hate the vast majority of reporters that I am familiar with, and, generally speaking, detest the collective national media (non-sports covering members included) on principle. Having made my loathing for the media abundantly clear, Chris Lopresti from WFAN seems ok.
Reporters...nah, I'll go with announcers. Marv Albert Dan Dierdorf Paul McGwire I think they're all the same person.. truestory
Cimini, as a few have said, I can take because he's accurate and factual for the most part, even if he wastes no opportunity to twist the knife and have a go at the Jets. Mehta, on the other hand, needs a public flogging. He just makes stuff up.
The only thing that keeps me interested in football watching is the game. I have learned to tune everything else out. The media are like women. They are never happy, and I don't spend my time listening to unhappy people. Brings down my joy.
