I think Bowles comes into this game seeking some revenge... http://espn.go.com/nfl/boxscore?gameId=400554303 Last year Chip's offense put up over 500 yards on his defense in AZ..Foles had over 400 (throwing for an extremely crazy high 62 attempts completing 36) and they had over 100 rushing yards. Seems like the Cards were having a bend but don't break type of day as they only let up 20 points some how. Maclin straight dogged Peterson and Cro, but Maclin isn't there and Agholor isn't Maclin... Revis isn't Peterson. Even though Arizona still won the game i know as a defensive coordinator Bowles was pissed.
Didn't see it mentioned in this thread... Demarco Murray left Eagles practice today with a hamstring. The Eagles may have to do without his 3 yards rushing this Sunday.
Just in case you missed: They are doing better without him anyway. [8 for -15 yard at one point? Good god.]
Bowles doesn't care about yards, he's always said it's a misleading stat. They got 3 turnovers and were +2 which is why they won. The Eagles first 3 drives: over 200 total yards, but 2/3 ended in a turnover.
aye quick question.. i'm leaving philly for south jersey on friday.. and sunday i'm going to ride up to Metlife from south jersey.. you guys think i'll have any issues with the pope being in the tri-state/ny area this weekend?
Pope's not going to the game, you're good. Seriously, I doubt you'll have problems this weekend. You're already going to be in South Jersey sitting put on Friday. He in turn travels to Philly on Saturday while you're still sitting put. He then is sitting put in Philly on Sunday when you head north to Met Life.
I don't think Sam Bradford is good enough to beat this D. And they have had major struggles running the ball. This sets up nicely for us.
True true.. i was having second thoughts even considered selling my ticket last minute.. hope i'll be fine.
Murray isnt really a factor IMO. the dallas line is really to credit for his output with the cowboys and philly was never going to use him in that fashion anyhow. im 100000 times more concerned with sproles. i move on a linebacker and he could make us pay with 6 points
matthews was a beast the end of last season and has been very good the first 2 games. that "drop" on the game ending interception wasnt all on him, throw was high. also, he had 3 catches on the potential game winning drive to setup a parkey FG before he missed it. agholor is a rookie, and already drawing plenty of attention from defenses. they have plenty of weapons. much better then anything we have faced so far
You're telling me Matthews 6 receptions against THE COWBOYS secondary impresses you? You understand our secondary, fuck that, our entire defense has only given up 2 touchdowns right? Both Cro's fault. I, in no way, am worried about what these two losers have the ability of doing because, for one, they aren't that good and two, Sam Bradford and the Eagles O-Line sucks and I expect them to be swallowed alive by this defense
i dont think running matters. they weren't going to try t run much anyway. quick hitters with sproles here and there. they go 4 wide alot. im worried about our coverage inside. to me it comes down to: 1. can we get to bradford and get him on the ground 2. can we contain sproles in all facets pass catching, running, kick returns 3. can we move the ball if decker is out 4. can we win the turnover battle/can fitz limit turnovers to me i like our chances on 1 and 4. 2 and 3 worry me alot. i think we have a good shot to win, but this will be our toughest test so far imo
80 yards and a touchdown is impressive. and no reason cro cant be beat again or anyone on this team cant be beat outside of maybe revis. we havent faced a team yet with someone like sproles to worry about. he makes blitzing tougher cause if they can get it to him on a hot with only 4 in coverage that could spell trouble. these are the best WRs we will have faced so far. matthews is a stud. he shouldnt be taken lightly. he has been productive, regardless of who it was against. the eagles offensive line certainly does not suck either.
If you are basing it soley on numbers, i could argue benjamin is better If not, hilton is much better then matthews
Matthews has been awful this season so far. He was a one of my favorite receivers in last year's draft, but he's been struggling this year. He's 2nd in the NFL in dropped passes, including 1 that was intercepted, that was on Matthews, he needs to catch that, no excuses. Agholor has not produced, and they don't have plenty of weapons on the outside. You are completely off here, those players need to make plays and they haven't done so.
The Jets have to ask themselves if they believe they can defeat the Eagles without Revis, Decker and Ivory. If so, you take that risk and let them rest for the England game against Miami. (Which is a much more important game) I am not trying to sound over confident, but I could see the Jets winning Sunday without those guys. Hopefully they are all well enough to play, like Cromartie last week, but if not I wouldn't risk it.
