Umm, have you seen Cro try and tackle a running back or tight end before? Coaching staff would have to be retarded to put Cro on Gronk
I just don't like him on an island at this point in his career. He's much better suited to play with a man over the top so he can jump routes underneath. If you see Cromartie singled up with a receiver it's an automatic audible to some sort of double move. It's not some sinful statement to be worried about giving up big players. All corners get burnt, not all corners are trusted in single coverage all game and routinely scare the shit out of you as potentially being an 80 yard touchdown liability because he can't tackle. He's still very good at jumping shorter routes because of his length. The long striding matter in which he runs allows quick receivers to give him fits on routes with multiple cuts. Keep a safety to his side, hedge our bet with Revis singled because we know he tackles despite the vicious TY Hilton stiff arm. I like Cro but I think this is the last year we have him on the team. No guaranteed money the remainder of his contract as far as I know and we can't keep all that money tied up in the secondary forever.
Cro is the same CB that he's always been. He is going to take chances to make big plays, but he is going to give up some big plays and get called for holding penalties. The best way to limit big plays against him is to keep a safety over the top.
Umm, have you seen The Gronk catch pass after pass after TD on 5'-8" corners and safeties? May be a good idea to prevent him from catching the ball in the first place so you don't have to tackle him.
Everyone know cro tackle is shit. Brady will still target gronk and cro won't stop him. And speaking of gronk, defenders will have to start taking out his legs. Sent from my LG-LS720 using Tapatalk
Everybody gets beat. Cro seems to get beat for lengthy TDs, though. Two in two games. You cannot let it happen every game. That is what you watch out for
I don't know when "Cro apologists" became a thing. He's just not that good anymore. I don't know if Macc was trying to appease the fanbase for nostalgia purposes with this signing or if Bowles really wanted someone in here that knew the system (in which case, I'd agree) but it just wasn't a good signing on the surface. Marcus Williams came on last year and has continued developing into this year. I look forward to NEXT year when he's our full time #2.
Denver is the only one with talib and harris, both are better then cro but both are way worse then revis so I'd still take our CBs anyday over anyone else in the league
Can we please stop this crap, he shouldn't even be getting snaps over Marcus Williams. Stop with this "best #2 in the NFL" stuff, it's ridiculous.
well name a defender that won't allow Gronk to catch it. Cro hasn't been able to stop a couple midgets on the Browns and Colts from scoring TDs on him but he's supposed to stop Gronk?
