Cleveland game too, I love the show he put on last week with his injury, amazing how quick he re-covered
Those who say he only gave up one big play clearly didn't pay much attention during the game. He let up at least three large gains (including the TD) that I saw that extended drives for the Colts that should have ended in TDs.
So he's an above average corner back, who occasionally gets beat. Nobody ever claimed he was shut down. This board is amazing. Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk
CRO is amazing, I think we are all too spoiled by 'revis' CRO is still in the top tier of CB's in the league. That being said, there is always room for improvement. But I love me some CRO
corners can get burned, we aren't going to hold every QB to 80 yards passing, no need to panic. you don't hear of his good plays when he locks down receivers because it doesn't get attention.
So we aren't giving the guy, who 99% of us thought had a torn ACL last week, a chance to recover from his injury before we assess? Cool. Also, he looked bad on the TD last night, but where was the help behind him? Moncrief ran a route resembling a horseshoe to get into the end zone and no one else was around to get him?
Just about every corner in the league not named Revis gets burnt at least 2-3 times a game. It's the nature of the beast in a a very pass-happy NFL. Look at all the other so-called "elite" CBs around the league. Sherman, Peterson, Haden, etc. I see these guys get burnt constantly and yet they still receive tons of accolades from the media and fans around the league. Another poster said it best - we are too spoiled by Revis.
Agree with this, Cro is not the exact same Cro but hes still a really good corner and we should be pretty happy to have him back
Dude broke his knee in half last week and started and played the entire game against Luck @Indy where we gave up 7 total points. I think it's foolish to complain about him right now, and I am one who thinks people over rate the shit out of him at this point in his career.
I'm feeling fine about him. Here's a guy who looks like his shattered his leg in 18 places week 1 and is out there week 2 picking off passes. C'mon guys. He's on a defense that has 10 takeaways in 2 games and we are questioning Cromartie bc he was beat last week by a guy who did it again week 2, and gave up a passing TD late in a game? Newsflash - teams are going to score TD's.
when he got beat early on the Colts drive that ended in a missed FG I was worried he was going to be a problem wondering why they would put him out there if he can't play but the rest of the game he played well
SHOW? Were you watching the game when his knee bent 45ยบ SIDEWAYS ?!?! That being said, While a good player, I think he's overrated and makes some bonehead moves
Give Cro a lot of credit for playing injured. Him and Revis on the field give us great leadership esp with the younger DBs. But what I see with him so far is what I saw 2 years ago. Being badly beaten on plays and not maybe having the quickness and reactions he used to have. I also see it with Revis who in spite of the great plays is susceptible to plays he wouldn't have been a few years ago. And that's why they're throwing at him and why NEP didn't want to pay him that 20 million. But overall Revis is earning his money with the Jets.
Sometimes he makes above average plays. But way too often, he has piss poor coverage or commits a dumb penalty.
He a solid number 2. Would you rather have Byron Maxwell? How's he look? Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk
DRC and Prince got owned by julio, Maxwell got owned by Dalls WR, Marshall owned joe haden and vonta davis, James jones owned richard sherman yesterday etc etc Good Cbs get beat and let up catches, Cro is still a top 10-15 CB out of the starting 64 CBs in the NFL. Most teams he'd be the number 1. He made the pro bowl last year. Some fans are too spoiled because revis rarely lets anything up. Oh and revis did get owned by moncrief on one play. It happens. The Wrs get paid big bucks to make catches too. Just becuase cro lets up a play here and there doesn't mean he sucks. Cro is a very good CB well above average playing next to the best CB in the game so some people are unfairly judging him by "revis" standards and not the standards of the other starters in the NFL
I just can't believe people are gonna complain about ANY member of that secondary after what we saw last night. Say what you will about the Colts OL...But that skill group is no joke. Jets mirrored them extremely well. As for Cro w/ more of a long term scope, I've been saying all along he's better suited as more of a role player/spot starter at this stage. There are plenty of WR's he can still match up w/ on the outside...but he struggles w/ short area quickness & change of direction. Let the match-ups dictate where & how much Cro will play. Jets have enough roster flexibility to utilize this method to perfection. Also..don't underestimate the return of Dee Milliner. Chances are the Jets are reluctant to start him w/ the injury history but work him into the rotation where they can limit his snaps but utilize his skills. That could really settle him down & allow him to round out his game.He becomes insurance for Cromartie w/ his size.Should every one stay healthy & find their niche, It could be wave after wave of fresh talented DB's all game long. Scary.
I believe there will be a "moment" in every game he plays this year that this topic is re-visited after every game. I'm not a big fan of his and i think he is lazy, but, he has great experience and that in itself is probably the only reason he is on the roster. The jury is out for me. I think he'll do marginally more good than bad for the jets. The game gets a whole lot faster every year that rolls over. I found it more disturbing that Revis was stood up on a couple of occasions the way he was, to be honest.
