The problem for the Eagles is the type of offense they are trying to run (spread/shotgun similar to what MM tried to do here). If Chip fails to adjust to a running friendly offense the Jets will decapitate Bradford or whoever stands behind center next Sunday.
We won't decapitate anybody unless our defense plays 100 times better than it has thus far this year including preseason.
The question was for Sanchez fans. But I wouldn't bench Bradford after 2 games unless he completely implodes.
Chip's offense is more problem than Bradford or Sanchez. He needs a premier QB or a guy that can run read option. But he has Murray in his backfield and he plays 99% of his offense from shotgun. Chip is the problem for the eagles. Not a good problem to have
Giving Chip the final say on personnel will be his downfall. He thought he could jettison his top receivers, not replace quality offensive linemen, and resurrect an injury prone, scared quarterback who never had anything more than marginal success as a Ram. He's a tad arrogant.
They came within one run of having their first negative rushing game since 1961..54 years, wow..as it is they ended up plus 9 I think.
Doesn't matter who's going to start for them. We are still going to lose. I will be at that game and I'm 0-2 so far at MetLife. Losses to Broncos last year and Steelers year before. Just kidding. It looks like the Eagles won't be blowing us out. I think we can win that game easy. They look bad and be looked good in our first game. I'll follow up on that after seeing how we look tonight lol
Bradford doesn't suck, it's just that Chip Kelly's scheme is idiotic for a QB like Bradford. They're only running 7 yards because they're running from the shotgun and Bradford is no threat to run at all. Not really hard to stop the run this way. Bradford is not the QB to be running Chip Kelly's system, actually Chip Kelly's system doesn't belong in the NFL That Said there is zero chance they bench Bradford for Sanchez in week 3. Especially after trading Foles, Kelly may as well just quit if he relented and did that.
Not surprising in any way. When you've won a power struggle to be the final call on personel there is no way that you bench the hand picked QB that you traded for to run your offense after week 2. Truthfully, it may have been crazy at the time, but it might've been in Chip's best interest for him to give up the house to draft Mariotta. At the very least he was the guy that was the best fit to run his scheme on offense. Would it have worked? Who knows, but this mismatched clusterf%#k that he has now clearly is not getting it done...
Kelly having an offense that needs a mobile QB is like Kubiak wanting Peyton to be under center and moving around. Doesn't work, tailor your offense to the players until you get the players that fit better.
Basically, my reaction. Sanchez against an aggressive, blitzing defense is not what the doctor ordered.
