Surprised Kate Murray wasn't there for a photo op, I mean she is the main reason why they could not get a new arena there. God forbid you had new economic development on rt 24. God forbid you have something other than vacant and falling down buildings on that road.

Very good time for a bump as last nite the Islanders made 2 trades and drafted 2 very very good prospects ! I'm pretty excited about the moves !

did they figure out how they are going to fit a hockey rink in that arena yet? is there going to be a big cliff from the upper deck straight down to the ice so that Icelanders fans have a place to jump from.

although I actually kinda like the Jersey ,,I also liked it in Blue .They should have used a little more imagination and come up with something a little different . As far as Grabner being traded I know very little except what I have read about the 5 guys we got back,,,,Liked Grabner a lot and wish him well but he was not going to play much here especially with injuries and this trade frees money to spend elsewhere .
Btw if this team wants to get serious about Contending they MUST find someone to play along side Tavares !

I gotta say, that's pretty shitty.....

I mean, couldn't they hire a design team, with a bit more creativity? Looks like a reg league uni.
If they really wanted to switch the colors, just using the existing ones and replacing the blues and oranges with black and greys wouldve been much better than that

Gross? There is only one jersey they had that was shameful to wear, I like it a lot.

What do you think of Grabner being traded?

I like the trade of Grabner, he is good during the regular season, however he disappeared in the playoffs, one dimensional player.

In the playoffs you need to get dirty in the corners and in front of the net, not what Grabner is going to do.

RM I'm pretty sure Isles fan feel the same as I did when the Rangers traded Hagelin, a little shocked at 1st, but in the Rangers case Etem is just as fast as Hagelin has more skill and is bigger

Between his injuries and one dimensional play, he was losing ground to the younger guys.

Honestly if they wanted to keep him, he would have been useful on the 3rd or 4th line, but he was making too much money to be put down that far on the depth chart.

Hagelin surprised me because he did contribute to the Rangers success, and he was healthy.

My friends who root for the Rangers are having a hard time with the trade but they are willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Hagelin was one dimensional also, superfast, couldn't bury the puck

Bump for tomorrow. I have been looking forward to tomorrow all week. Gonna get some shit done early in the day so I can sit my ass down, watch the Islanders game and then switch to the Mets right after. DVR'ing the Mets game in case there is any carry over. I hate the fact the Islanders are in Brooklyn and doubly hate the new alternate uniforms they will wear 12 times a year, but you've got to be excited regardless. Go Isles.

Sacrilegious says it better. I am in no way an old-school, well tenured Islanders fan, but I love the team and their history, and those uniforms are a joke. Brooklyn seems such the opposite of what the Islanders stand for. True Islanders fans can correct me if I am wrong.
