What gonna be the excuse when the truthers come out with the Kraft/goodell/Brady /Berman collusion story and more teams outing the Pats nefarious cheating ? You'll just spontaneous combust Vacate the titles
Trust me.. I despise New England as much as the next fan but you can't quantify how much the cheating helped. Who the hell knows. The guy is 4-2 in Super Bowls. That's impressive. If it wasn't for the two of the luckiest plays in NFL history he is 6-0.
McNally needs to go to Espn for a big payday. He lives in a little shak in the woods. New kicks and weightloss snak bars Yummy
you have to look at their full careers, not just how they are playing now. nothing in the last 2 years should have swayed your opinion. 2 years ago, Peyton kicked the shit out of the P*ts in the playoffs. Last year, the P*ts won the Super Bowl, but amidst even more cheating allegations. if anything, my opinion on Peyton being better has only become stronger.
Look at the weapons Peyton had on that Denver team and look what Brady did with garbage..Wes Welker leaves.. okay no problem, I'll turn Edelman into a star. Brandon LaFell or DT? Emmanuel Sanders or Danny Amendola? He had absolute garbage and turned it into GOLD. Hell, he has been doing that for his entire career.
He didn't have "garbage", Gronk is a transcendent talent and while Edelman isn't the HOF caliber player Welker is, he is still a shifty WR who is a great route runner and fit for their spread offense. If Brady can truly change garbage into gold, why hasn't Dobson panned out? Why didn't Thompson Pan out? Brady also has the greatest head coach of my time at least and for the most part he's had very strong OLS. So while Brady is great and may have not had the same caliber of players at the skill postions that Manning had, he still has the greatest HC of wll time, who has developed an offensive scheme that perfectly fits his skillset (while elevating the talent of WRS) and he used to have very good OLS. It basically comes down to preference, but the idea that Manning has had signficantly more talent is just false. Manning had some brutal OLS in Indy , but his ability to process information quickly and make quici decisions has elevated their poor offensive lines in his career. I personally perfer Manning.
I'll die on this hill, but Peyton Manning is the better QB to me. I've had this argument many times but that's what I think. At the same time, that doesn't mean I think Brady isn't great, he's also an all time great. I just think if you flip Peyton and Brady's scenarios/teams you get similar SB/playoff record results. Too much in the playoffs, which people who argue Brady is better than Manning lean on, is out of the QBs hand in a single elimination scenario. Saying that, something about Aaron Rodgers at QB leaves me the most amazed when watching a QB.
This is just revionist history. No one considered Brady to be a superstar during their first SB run and that team had a top five defense along with a strong offensive line and run game. Brady didn't win that SB with poor receivers, the Patriots as a TEAM won those superbowls with sound offensive schemes and strong Offensive lines. Now Brady was very good, but he didn't turn garabge into gold. Brady definitely wasn't at a HOF level during those first two superbowls or three superbowls for that matter.
Touche. But the OP question was who is the better all-time QB. I don't know how anyone can argue against 4 Rings and 6 appearances. He has a terrific shot at adding 1 more ring and another 1 or 2 appearances to the SuperBowl.
I disagree with your last sentence. They don't have a great shot at adding a ring again, ans rings are a team team accomplishment, so I personally don't factor them in at all; too many flukey variables in a playoff game. Brady with three rings is the same Brady with six rings if Tyree and Manningham don't make insane catches.
Manning is in the discussion (with Montana) as best QB of the last 50 years. Brady is a Top 10 QB, but no where near the level of those two - particularly in light of the fact that he (and his team) is a known cheater for pretty much his entire career. 1. Montana 2. Manning 3. Marino 4. Elway 5. Favre 6. Young 7. Unitas 8. Brady 9. Staubach 10. Aikman
