I can stomach Trump more than I can Cruz and that's just embarrassing. Trump is an ahole and an idiot but at least that's just who he is. Cruz on the other hand is trying to be an ahole and an idiot. How can one man respect a guy like that? I wouldn't elect him to lead any group of people at any level let alone our country
Well, I don't think he has to try too hard, but I get your point and agree with it. The only guy who is probably even less presidential is Jindal, just because he comes across as nuts. And not Rick Santorum nuts as in crazy ideas and lack of logic. Just flat out nuts. But the ahole level with Cruz is off the charts. Do his supporters not see this, or is it in fact something they like about him?
Cruz is a smart guy and a very good Constitutional lawyer. He was a Harvard Law student of Alan Dershowitz who says Cruz was a great student of his and he believes in what he says. But he believes in tearing the system down instead of working with it. And even though he understands the inner workings of the Supreme Court he wants to challenge their authority if he doesn't agree with their decisions. He stated something like this last night and said on day 1 if he's President he'll do something about it. He'll be a busy guy on day 1: impeaching members of the Supreme Court he doesn't like and tearing up the Iran deal.
My Goodness...These Republican nominees are a complete mess. Only ones that looked last night were Carly and Marco. I cannot take anyone else serious out there. Also, Carly is a failure in her business venture...But she is a great speaker. Marco is serious and honestly he shouldnt be the fall back guy but the main guy for conservatives. And please if Jeb Bush gets the call I swear this country may never be great again.
Bush's body language next to Trump was embarrassing. He looked like a wimp. And Carly acted tough like she's a fighter and can handle herself but it's all an act. She has no substance just bluster. I don't see how this superficial BS impresses people.
The way they attack Hillary on the emails and servers is insane. They all know there is little to get at her with. I forsee this upcoming election to be bad I dont know personally, I will root for Bernie Sanders but at the end of the day watch it come down to Hillary vs Carly/Marco
Also what was up with Mike Huckabee last night? He was the weakest man of them all...He was playing the nice card and literally trying to hold everyone's hands and preach about the Republicans and how they are all wonderful...The guy is already trying to join the ticket with someone haha
There might be something there on the emails. But you don't call someone a liar on national TV unless you can prove it. Let the investigative process play out. They might be able to legitimately get her on this one. As for Bernie the WSJ did a study on his proposals and what they would cost. You're talking around 18 trillion. http://www.wsj.com/articles/price-tag-of-bernie-sanders-proposals-18-trillion-1442271511 It's not a viable option.
At least he gave a proposal. How much would Trump's wall cost btw? Any estimates out there on that? lol
The President can't impeach anybody. That's the House of Representatives. Nobody else can impeach a lifetime appointment in the Federal Judiciary. The President can't unilaterally abrogate a treaty that the Senate has approved. It requires a return to the Senate for consultations and joint action. However the Iran deal is only an agreement and is not subject to ratification by the Senate, so Cruz could tear it up if he chose to do so. He could also tear up the agreement that begins the normalization processes with Cuba. He could use executive orders to reverse many actions that Obama has taken during his tenure, just as Obama reversed some that Bush had taken. He could choose not to execute some of the orders instead of specifically reversing them, letting them die a slow bureaucratic death instead of a fast public one. I think it's safe to say that the US government would function very differently from day 1 of a Republican President's tenure than from day 1 of a Hillary Presidency. I expect both sides to make a very big deal about that in the runup to the election. Trump, BTW, is one of the safer alternatives in terms of day to day changes. He's got some bad boat-rocking ideas but he's not looking to tear Obama down the way some of the Republican candidates are. He won't make knee-jerk decisions based on the agenda of some crazy billionaire somewhere, he'll make carefully considered decisions based on the agenda of the crazy billionaire in the White House. It's too bad Jim Webb isn't running. He'd win in a landslide at this point.
That's just it. Whomever gets elected has to work with Congress and the opposing party. And Cruz can't do that. He can't even work with his own party. Anyone who disagrees with him he calls corrupt. I thought that Ted was against Executive orders.
She'll soften the ticket a bit and give the Republicans a fighting chance with the suburban soccer mom vote where they are dead as doornails at the moment.
Donald/Carly ticket with the Republicans settling in for the first Reality TV Presidential Election in history. The Clinton Saga vs The Donald. In all of this remember that the Old Republican mainstream is now dead in terms of providing candidates. They have a lot of influence still but the Republican electorate has moved on and is no longer interested in Lee Atwater-esque machinations that produce Presidents incapable of following up on their platform.
2 business people who are not politicians? Lol that would be a slap to all of those traditional Republicans. I'm sure television stations wants to see Hillary, Bernie, Carly, Trump on the same stage. Would be pretty epic.
If you spend a generation railing against Abortion on the national stage you damn well better get Roe V. Wade overturned. Voters don't like it when they think they were played and all of those 25-30 year old activists are 55 now and they're not going to fall for the same crap again.
