And just in case anyone needed to get the nyjunc needle to go in any deeper, Mark Sanchez beat them both in the playoffs. Sanchez > both.
I've always viewed Brady as a system QB, who wouldn't have been nearly as good had he went to another team. He just so happened to fall into the perfect setup in New England, with a Machievellian coach willing to do anything to win, an owner who pays off the league commissioner, and a culture of systematic cheating which would have enabled even Geno Smith to play like a Pro Bowl QB. Manning is the prototypical franchise QB who would have won with just about anybody. Guys like him, Elway, Marino, etc. could go to a team like Jax or Cleveland and win their division year after year. Brady probably could have played at a Pro Bowl level with another team, but not at the level that Manning played at for a really long time.
Manning can at least play the game without help from being directed where to throw etc But father time is undefeated
Hahahahaa holy shit can you imagine if we had Manning and Belli- we'd have 10 SBs and we'd all be on PatsFags.com everyday begging for validation and trying to convince those jerkoffs they are wrong. _
Brady officially guilty after Dorito dink and Deflator reinstated. Pats attorneys must have sang a loud tune of Brady directing the whole thing http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...oys-proves-tom-brady-is-guilty-in-deflategate
Question is, had Manning played in N.E. for B*lich*ck would he been able to lower himself to the levels needed to accept cheating as part of his daily routine. My thinking is Manning is too conscientious to lower himself to Br*dy's level.
Brady's been more successful. Manning has had less overall support. They're both Hall of Famers on the first ballot.
Define less overall support. Brady has had nobodies on offense for the majority of his career, Manning had a pair of HOF WR's, maybe a RB or two, and is now playing with Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders. Brady has unarguably had the better defensive players on his side for most of his career, but to say Manning has had no defensive help is just stupid. His entire time in Denver has been seen with very solid defenses as well as several Colts D's that I believe rated in the top 10 scoring defenses and a few very talented run defenses, including the one that won the Superbowl for him. SB wins? Brady led his team to scoring drives capped off by AV a few times and then overcame a 10pt deficit in his most recent, Manning beat a Rex Grossman led Bears team. Manning is probably the best pure passer to ever play in the NFL, when it comes to needing a play under pressure with the season on the line, you'd be a fool to take him over Brady.
Brady has had Belichik. Are we going to argue this point or not? The other thing is that to a greater extent than any other QB since the merger Peyton Manning has been his own offensive coordinator on the field. There's always been somebody in the role alongside him on the sidelines but the plays mostly get called on the field and Manning is the primary person in determining how to attack an opposing defense, both in prep time and on the field.
Yeah, Brady has Belichick, I'll give you that. I won't argue it, BB is one of, if not the best coach of all time. ANY player would benefit from that. Manning has NOT had the best HC's at his side for his entire career. So yes, Tom greatly benefits from that. However, I honestly believe its a myth that Manning calls any more of his own plays than Brady does, the Patriots probably run the most no-huddle in the NFL and that is mostly Tom calling plays. Peyton has coaches who outrank him and he respects that and does as told. So does Tom. The OC's Peyton has largely taylor themselves to him, however, I'm pretty sure they still radio in the calls to Peyton, Peyton however DOES have the power to override them at the LOS if he sees something different, as do most QBs who are trusted by their coaches. Edit: I'm hugely biased, so I won't vote, everyone here knows I'm a Pats fan. Tom is the guy I want at QB in any generation. I believe he's the GOAT, not because of his numbers, but because when it counts, more often than not, he'll pull through, especially recently. He's faced a lot of adversity from day 1 to year 16, I don't care if you believe he brought it on himself or if it's unfair judgement, that's irrelevant to me, the fact is that he's gone through a lot more than most QB's, and all it does it motivate him, and that motivation has allowed him to play at one of the highest levels at one of the oldest ages for any QB ever.
And honestly as a Jets fan I hate Marino, I hate everything associated with the Phins but could you imagine Marino playing with Bellicheat as his coach or with Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne?
