I think we should sign three other guys either from practice squads or just get some bums off the street and cut the following:

    Jeremy Kerley
    Brian Winters
    Jeff Cumberland
    Geno Smith

    White, Forgettable, Useless?

It's true. Every team has one.

The problem with trading Kerley is his contract. I like the guy and don't know why he's in their doghouse but if they're not going to use him and can trade him and get a pick you might as well try and do it now. I'd use him as our slot receiver but it looks like he's down on their depth chart. I never totally understood the timing of re-signing Kerley it came right after Idzik traded for Harvin.

    I didn't say trade, I said cut.

Who cares whether or not his contract is guaranteed if he can't catch a cold?

Makes no sense to cut him because of the money plus the guy has talent. LI Blitz mentioned trading him.

If we flat out cut him he will cost us $4 million against the cap and almost $2 million against next year's. And then another $1 million a year after that. Basically… Cutting him is not a smart option.

If we can put a better man on the roster keeping him makes no sense.

That is an absolute ridiculous post. You should be embarrassed.

Just because I wouldn't compound the mistake of extending Kerley by making the bigger mistake of wasting a perfectly good roster spot to keep him over a better WR does not mean I would not make a good GM.

Kerley would cause the team to incur too much of a dead money charge on the cap. I don't think they could work it out to cut him if they wanted to.

You've been around long enough to know better. Cutting a player is the same as trading as far as the cap goes. If his contract is guaranteed and there are moneys due, the team incurs a dead money cap charge, and I'm pretty sure that money due in future years escalates to this year.

Besides saying that Kerley can't catch is not only wrong, it's just stupid. You're better than that!

Agreed, Bohanon is totally useless, he's the easy option to get cut.

For once the jets have an array of offensive talent and we want to cut a guy because he did not contribute week one. Let alone this one guy was concussed and just getting back to taking reps, but nope lets cut him and take the dead money hit.

Kerley is a good role player and he will continue to contribute to this teams success. Its great every week knowing were not trotting out some udfa wr we picked up two weeks ago regardless if we incur an injury or two at the position.
