I will no disagree with you at all on this. I do agree there is some major cleaning up to do. I also want to call that nice long lob pass to either Owasu or Marshall, I forgot. It hit him right on the stretched hands and dropped. That could have been a beautiful seven right there. We have a long way still but the road is looking nicer than In years past.
Wow, all the hate for Cro and yet it was Revis that the Browns threw at all day long...THAT should make you nervous as everybody else in the league will see that in the films.
Hah. I wouldn't go that far. It's just that with Bowles you kind of have to put Cro on IR in order for Marcus to be the starter. Because when healthy Bowles will go with Cro until it becomes painfully obvious that he's just terrible, and I don't think he's that bad. He's sort of good enough to make a few plays every once in a while to keep his job unfortunately. If he could just cut those bigplay touchdowns out I'd be fine with Cro starting, he'd actually be a really good corner. But you can't make those mistakes and then expect to play for a superbowl. You can't. I rather have a corner that plays consistent and doesn't make the bigplays he does. As long as he doesn't give up the same bigplays. Marcus gives us that, and more. He makes plays, he doesn't give up those 60+ yard touchdowns. We can't have that. It wasn't so much that Cro got faked out. He just did what he always does. He takes his eyes off the receiver, he reads the QB and meanwhile he loses the receiver because all he does is run a straight line, he's not running the receivers' route. He needs to cut that shit out. Cover the receiver, stop reading the QB. That doesn't work with veteran QB's. It didn't even work with Manziel. They mention it here at the 0:50 mark. http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-game-highlights/0ap3000000529349/Browns-vs-Jets-highlights
Yes but we expect Cro to operate at an elite level.....expectations are higher and should be. Nobody expects Fitzpatrick to be anything more than he was. Don't throw picks and hand the rock to my man Chris Ivory.
Wow, I have to man up. I'd have bet my house on Cro being done, which I said here yesterday. Good news all around. Happy to be wrong.
Anybody who thinks this is bad news needs to understand match ups. Cro gives this defense some flexibility against larger, lanky receivers. His problem is that he has consistently through out his career relied on his length and make up speed. As he is getting longer in the tooth his unique abilities are starting to decline rapidly. He still does have value and gives this defense a dimension it doesn't have without him
Cro takes some gambles but usually comes out ahead. We have absolutely no one else that can hope to slow Gronk down when we play the Patriots.
Updated once again. Removed healthy players who have returned. Updates on CRO and Mauldin timelines should become clearly as the week passes.
cro deserves blame but when you rush 7 they shouldnt have time to make that play. to me its 55% on the pass rush and 45% on cro
Let's try and leave this thread for injury talk... but I will say this, Cro PLayed him to the inside because the safety was supposed to cover over.. I believe it was Jaiquawn who was out there but he did get caught with his head in the backfield..
