Bet he knocked up the Radiology nurse with his Super-Cro manbutter while he was having his MRI. "Mama why don't you come in here with ol' Cro 'n let ol' Cro come in you?.."
Thank goodness! I was worried that it was a spinal/neck injury. Not that concussions are good, but compared to being paralyzed for life, it's night and day. Hopefully he'll be cleared and playing again within a month.
Realistically, Cro only looked bad on one single play last game, and it may not have even been his fault. I love that we are deep at the position this year and am really happy he's not out for the year. Keep on truckin', Cro!
First off I'm very, very happy for Cro and for Lorenzo. The football Gods are looking down on us. I want them both back soon. Now, I must admit how amazed I am, after a win no less, at the amount of negativity on this board towards the Jets in general, and the play of the secondary in particular, namely Cro and Revis. We did get burned on one play, one play mind you, plus an unbelievable one handed scoop catch in front of Revis and we are ready to dismiss Cro, and accept the fact that Revis is looking older and slower. Truth be known we don't even know if Cro screwed up or he correctly assumed someone else was responsible for picking the receiver up. From the sound of the criticism I suppose his fumble recovery was meaningless in the grand scheme of things performance wise. May I remind everyone where we were last year versus now, please people, enjoy the victory and hope the rest of the ride has similar results. Cleveland is not a bunch of scrubs many of you presume, and the mistakes by Cleveland didn't just happen, our team force them both on offense and defense. Unlike years past. I'm very happy to see Williams success at the CB position, and he might well be our starter going forward, but Cro still has a major role to play here. So does Fitz, but the way, who held it together beautifully and threw two nice TD passes when we desperately needed it. Most people here clearly know some of the limitations going forward, be it the ILB speed, or lack of a pure edge rusher or Fritz cealing and so forth. We knew going in our shortcomings and we did not have huge expectations, but for Pete's sake folks, we should be pleasantly surprised at the grit, resilience and determination this team is showing. Let's save the negativity for when our expectations get destroyed....not vice versa.
Could this be the turning point in the Jets fortunes? It wasn't that long ago that these two injuries would have been season enders if not career enders. We've had some of the worst luck although a lot of it was of our own making. Finally, we get lucky on something important.
Between the win, the overall state of our franchise, the news on Cro and Mauldin especially, I really haven't felt this good in years as far as football is concerned. Just a great week from here on out. Yesterday was horrible, despite the win.
Bowles takes no sh*t...it's refreshing...Cro can handle the heat and he basically got beat on that play...Bowles has the reigns tight on this group me thinks.
I would prefer they did not call Babin, he can put some pressure on the QB, but he also keeps the defense on the field with his bad penalties. Jmo
agreed. i dont think cro is without blame on that play but several things went wrong allowing that touchdown. for me, bowles should have played coverage there. with manziel in force him to be i still put half the blame on the pass rush. when you rush 7 you should force a quick throw or a back foot throw. not 3 seconds and a clean throwing window. cro expected heavy pressure and looked to jump the first cut. the pressure never came. he looked bad.
not singling any defender out, but us not getting burned is kind of decieving. they had a lot of receivers with tons of space, who were simply missed. manziel missed the easiest TD pass you'll ever see. his man was uncovered in the endzone and he led him out of bounds. mccown missed a wide open player deep on one of the first plays of the game. thast 14 points right there. countelss times manziel missed uncovered guys over the middle. and as is we allowed them to covert 50% of first downs. its not doom and gloom, but we need to clean that up
On that Johnny Football bomb against Cro. It wasn't just that he was beaten deep. He bit on a deke and was totally faked out by the receiver. I'm not going to condemn him for one play. But it reminded me of 2 years ago.
