I thought Leonard was fine. Got a lot of OL respect for a guy in his first game.

I don't think anybody should be very thrilled about how we played yesterday. It was Cleveland and Johnny Football and 5 turnovers..without any one of those I'm not sure we win especially with how we looked early.

A win is a win, and best of all Fitz played well enough that no fair minded person would want to have seen Smith out there instead. I am also becoming a huge Bowles fan and it was great to see him get his first win as the Jet HC. A win yesterday was essential for all the reasons I was concerned last week, partly given the next three opponents and the need to do no worse than 2-2 in the first quarter.

Tough that Cro got hurt, but the defensive line played well without Richardson. Harrison does not get enough credit. Bench players like Williams played well, and wouldn't it be funny if Reilly turns out to actually be Idzik's best value pick?

On O Marshall was great, the OL played very well, but of course the man was Ivory.

my uncle and i were discussing this over sausage and peppers in the parking lot. he had a valid point that some of you may find nuts but makes a lot of sense when you think about it.

revis is one of the smartest players on the field at any given time. the guy knows his position and knows his matchup inside and out, week in and week out. hes also a vet at this point. which means he truly understands how the NFL game works. hes also had a major season-ending knee injury during his career.

he said that revis, being the crafty vet that he is, was most likely doing just enough to get by, since we were dominating the game for the most part, and bc the browns just simply arent that good. he looked at it as "why go nuts week one, against a shitty opponent, with basically no talent at the position, and risk injury". he knew that he could take it somewhat easy out there today without fucking his team over. idk if i agree totally but its definitely not out of the realm of possibilities, bc youre definitely not going to convince me that revis is getting worked by benjamin and hartline. no way no how.

Broke the internet. This might actually be more impressive than Colon not getting flagged yesterday.

I wonder if Johnny football didn't take over what the final score would have looked like. Bowles did a decent job and I look forward to where he is going to take them, BUT I really missed Rex's defensive schemes and blitz's, and the D definitely did too.

I bet you didn't miss the penalties, the wasted TO's, the chest bumping, the lack of discipline....

It takes two to generate a turnover. If you are looking to downplay a 3 TD margin of victory maybe mention all the self-inflicted penalties the Browns had. Then again that involves coaching and the Jets had significantly less penalties.

We hardly ever forced turnovers with Rex here. So far throughout the preseason and now week 1, it seems to be a thing with the Bowles defense.

Of course having Johnny sucks at Football in there helped, but it will be interesting to see if we can continue creating turnovers.

OK, cool. I just saw a number of posters make similar comments in the game thread, and I couldn't respond to them, then when I saw yours thought I should say something. Didn't mean to make you bear the brunt for what everyone said.

I think we overlooked the fact that the team has not played together before - a lot of new pieces who have stated that they will need to come together. Secondaries need to understand each other and communicate well, look at the Steelers Vs Pats if you want to see really bad communication. It is team work, chemistry and understanding built up over time not the sum of their parts or what they look like on paper that will be needed.

Same for the O - new G no TEs and new QB and WRs. The Browns O may be terrible overall but their Oline (Mack & Thomas in particular) and D (upgraded the front this offseason) are among some of the better units in the league

Same thing the past 4000 years lol stack the box and stop the run, force QB to make a play. That's been the strategie for opposing defenses for a long time. Except this year we have an elite #1 and elite #2 reciever. A qb that can read a defense. Biggest thing were missing is a legit right end(besides saying we need an elite qb). But this is the most complete offense I've ever seen the jets have in my jets life tenure. About 16 years, I'm only 26years old so My knowledge is back to around year 2000. Marshall is the best receiver I've ever seen in a jets uniform, Holmes and Braylon are a joke compared to him and is take Marshall over Keyshawn
