Marcell Dareus gets a Suh deal

Wilkerson shouldn't get any ideas. He's a fine player, but not near the level of Suh/Watt/Dareus. Jets can afford to let him go if he demands that money. No one will pay him that on the open market.

 

Doesn't bode well at all for us signing Wiljkerson.

 

Wilk and Dareus are absolutely on the same level.
Watt is another level entirely.

Dareus is good he's just a shithead. He's worth that kinda money especially when your QB is Tyrod Taylor making like mcdonald's minimum wage or something so you don't have to worry about the cap. But Dareus is a shit head so you worry about giving a guy like that a contract, not anything about his play though

 

Dude... Dareus is a 1st team all pro, 2 time pro bowler, and gets double digit sacks from the nose tackle position. With all due respect to Mo, he doesn't touch that.

Dude... Dareus has 19 sacks in 2 years, Wilk has 18 sacks in 2 years (while missing time last year)..
Wilk's season sack high is 11 (2013), while Dareus is 10 (2014)..
and their run stuffing rankings are very similar as well (both excellent), and they are both position versatile.
they are in the same conversation for sure.

and neither guy is worth 18M per, with 60M guaranteed. that is insane..
and i say this as someone who is a big fan of how these guys play.

on NFL.com, they report 6yr 100M, 60M guaranteed.
that's just shy of 17M per year.
and this guy is suspended week 1 for substance abuse? wow, that's a lot of guarantees with substance abuse strikes already on the record.

The deal includes this season, its an extension, so its actually 7 years for $108.
