Football is my FAVORITE spectator sport, but to be honest, I'm getting tired of the 24/7/365 NFL in your face.......especially considering most of it is just "off the field drama" bullshit, and rule changes and sideshow stuff (FF) geared to keep the attention of people that don't understand the game.
I used to get much more excited in the past when "Hey , Football's BACK!"
I love my football sunday afternoons, but the rest has become too much. I even quit playing fantasy football (after a 12 yr league with my buddies) if they water it down even more by expanding playoffs, it'll wane even more...... maybe Red Menace is correct.

That being said, LETS GO JETS

the only logical answer as to why someone would be so miserable for the start of football season. also if shes already ruining football for you before the wedding, call it off. save yourself before its too late

Belichick makes coaches look like idiots with his knowledge of eligible lineman rules, other coaches
whine to have the team fined, banned.

Pats fan makes Jets fans look like idiots in their newsgroup (without using harsh language), Jets
fan whines to have poster banned.

When you figure out how the world works, get back to us. We are not wasting time with Jets fans
or any other whiners, we are just going for the championship.

Bck to the OP's question, i was dreading this season before IK did us all a favor. NOW I am reasonably excited. Sure the team still has some issues, and I remain leery that Bowles and Gailey might be too inclined to put Smith in there at some point. I'm also thrilled by the improvements at CB, which will make a vast difference. There's also the possibility the younger LB's might make an enhanced contribution.

But even in down years for the Jets I look around the league for interesting stories or teams to follow. I like Green Bay, and lately have been very impressed by Arians and the job he's done with the Cards. Then there's how the Rams and Eagles will respectively do after their swap of starting Qb's. The Bears are also of interest after the big changes they made in their organization. Every year there's usually something interesting involving rivalries among the Ravens, Steelers and Bengals. There's a lot to follow.

Pats fans are the most insecure people on the planet..they are here and probably on Miami and Buffalo sites too because they feel they have to somehow justify the 20 years of cheating their owner and coach has instilled in the team and as an extension their fans too. If they were really comfortable in their own skins they would never go to another fan's site.

Agree with you there. As excited as I am about the Jets, I think I've become much more interested than I was in the past about other teams--or rather--other players.

I've been so amped about drafting a QB the past 3 years, I can't wait to see what the likes of Teddy and Carr and Mariota do this year. Even Winston and some of the other young QBs coming on. McCarron is going to start at some point over Daulton. Some of the WRs that have entered the league in the past 2-3 years are special players and I love watching these guys play. Kills me to see a guy like Kevin White go down for the season but Amari Cooper is going to be a blast to watch. Jordan Matthews and Davante Adams and Nelson Agholor?

Hell, I wouldn't have given much thought to a Titan game or a Raider game or a Minny game in the past but now?

How about that shit show in Tampa? But now Winston and Mike Evans?

Who would ever voluntarily watch a Jags game? But now with a second year Bortles with TJ Yeldon and Rashad Greene?

How much fun is it going to be watching Luck continue to become a star? Who's not going to watch when Manziel gets his first start? Is Sammy Watkins really a beast?

Lots of great stories in the league, lots of great stuff to watch.

They crave validation because without it, those "championships" are hollow.

    So sad.

I think that's my point, every year there are new players entering the league with new story lines that freshen up the game.

I disagree. I used to like the overall league and follow other players closely besides the Jets but in recent years I find myself hating the hell out of the NFL and the rest of the teams/players and only really caring about the Jets.

Maybe its because the league is a zoo, with Goodell/Patriots cheating, maybe is all the bullshit twitter stuff/hype etc., maybe its the exhausting replays & rules, maybe its just me and nobody else feels that way, Idk, but I could seriously careless about all the players you mentioned or anything in the league besides the Jets.. Honestly, I feel the league has less likable players now than at any point in my lifetime. I hate most of the players, I hate the commissioner, I hate the young QBs that kinda suck, I especially hate other teams, etc.

If I got nothing going on I'll watch other games but I would be completely content just tuning into the Jets game and thats all.

I guess there is some legal difference between this fantasy stuff and betting on teams to win or lose, but it seems to me, it's still gambling.

Boys and girls, I think our dear departed Latino amigo has unwittingly provided some insight into what we are seeing from Patriots' fans lately. They are all actually part of the team and bear some direct responsibility for it's success. You'd be defensive about it too.
