The Marlins love fucking with us, don't they? The Nats did what they were suppose to do and we didn't. We as Mets fans should know better than to count chickens before they hatch. In the Nats series we have to win 2 out of 3 minimum.

I just looked at the Nationals remaining schedule and it's a cake walk.

At least the Nats are due for another letdown series. They've played too poorly for too long for me to take anything out of their series against the Braves.

19 losses in 20 games tells me more than anything.

Is there some can't miss prospect in the draft next year? otherwise I can't see why the Braves want to tank this hard.

Ours was supposed to be that too, but we've lost two of the last three series and barely scraped by the Phillies.

    I cannot stand Scott Boras.

Pond scum. Liar, cheater, everything wrong with the world.

It seems Harvey has overruled him, though.

You’ve heard about the 180-185 innings cap. That seems to be the number that will allow me to pitch into the postseason. Regardless of those numbers, I hope everyone knows: I have always wanted to play. I have always wanted to pitch every single chance I get.
    Especially in the playoffs.

Right now we’re hunkered down in a fight to make the postseason. All of our efforts are focused on that task. As a team, we understand that there’s still a lot of baseball left to play. The chance to make a run in the playoffs will require our full dedication, energy and passion. This is an incredibly exciting time to be part of the Mets.

As an athlete, when your surgeon explains to you the risks of exceeding a certain number of innings, it can be alarming. You listen. I love to play baseball and I love winning even more. I would not give that up for anything. I also know I want to be able to play and win for a long time. But there has never been a doubt in my mind: I will pitch in the playoffs. I will be healthy, active and ready to go.

I am communicating with my agent, my doctor, Sandy and the entire Mets organization. I can assure everyone that we’re all on the same page.

Together, we are coming up with a plan to reach an innings limit during the season. It will be a compromise between the doctors and the Mets organization to get me, and the team, to where we need to be for our postseason run.

I understand the risks. I am also fully aware of the opportunity the Mets have this postseason. Winning the division and getting to the playoffs is our goal.

Matt changing his tune by the day. If thats the way he truly feels he wouldn't have said what he said in the first interview after Boras' comments. He would've flat out said "Im pitching the rest of the season and the playoffs" right away. But after public outrage from the media and fans now he's doing damage control.

The Mets were thrown a huge curveball in the most important time of the year. After babying this kid for the last 2 years basically. Sandy said all the right things. Obviously he knows how careful the team has been with Harvey. He's 26 , he isnt a baby. I can understand wanting to be careful but that should've been the sentiment from Day 1. And it was far from it. Did he think the Mets would just suck this year again so they would shut him down early cause the last month wouldnt mean anything?

If him and Boras were so dead set on 180 innings, they could've said that before the season and the team could've waited to start him until mid-May or June. Also everybody seems to be forgetting that Harvey missed a lot more time with his surgery than a lot of other pitchers did. He realistically could've pitched at the end of last season had the Mets been in a playoff race. But the team was smart with that too.

Id love to kill the Mets for this but if Im Sandy Im looking to rid myself of this headache.

If the Mets don't make the playoffs this season, blame the bullshit Pen first, TC second.

One good thing about this upcoming series is we'll be getting healthy again. Duda is supposed to be back with the team today , although not in the lineup. Murph's back too. Cuddyer I guess is really the only one on the shelf.

Dont wanna make excuses for the Marlins series but those lineups were looking eerily similar to our lineups pre-deadline ones , outside of Cespedes.

A win today gets rid of a lot of worries.

I think we Mets fan are being overly emotional about Matt. I think it would be crazy to trade him for 2016 season. We still have him under contract through 2018. I'm taking a this too shall pass approach with him and cooler heads will prevail. At the end of the day when Matt contract is up it's going to be about who going to pay him the most. It was always going to be about that. Just like with Cespedes, and 99.9% of players. Matt definitely has a little douche in him, but I'm still really happy he's on our team.

Today's is the biggest game of Niese career. Crossing my fingers he doesn't blow up.

Nationals Park has to be one of the ugliest newest stadiums. No wow factor. Nothing that grabs my attention. Nothing that says, I want to check it out.
And the Mets just squandered a great opportunity........
