I would think the Jets FO know a lot more about him than we do and they didn't just make this move in a vacuum and maybe the intent was always to try and sneak him thru to the PS and they thought they would have a better chance to do it today than yesterday.
Rontez Miles is better than the trash we claimed...what am I missing Didn't Rontez score the highest grade of Safety's in the Preseason too?
Ronald is 4 years younger than Rontez. They want to mold him. What they saw on tape was probably the same thing Rontez offers them...a run stuffing backup safety.
If you cut Milliner every team in the NFL would put a claim in for him. As for Miles performing well during pre-season. So did Tebow but Philadelphia cut him and signed instead a Jax PS type of Qb. They had this Seattle kid higher rated. But you never know the Jets will bring him in and if they don't like what they see cut him and bring back Rontez.
I don't get this move at all? I don't know the guy but Seattle is desperate for safety help and just traded one and cut this guy.. Why the fuck should I assume a safety that was cut from a team in desperate need of safety help is an upgrade over miles? Miles deserved and earned his spot.. I'm confused, does anyone know anything about this guy they just st picked up
Forget Rontez making it to the PS, he's going to get scooped up after his preseason. Bad move in my opinion, but not going to go crazy it's a bottom of the roster churn. More concerned with the fact that Mr. Glass is once again on the IR, if McDougle plays well he might just find himself on the street. What a waste.
Well, we can never be sure. But one great way to "assume" that one player is an upgrade for another is to see if an NFL general manager deems it to be the case.
Some publications have Martin listed at 6'2 220. The Jets other safeties? Gilchrist 5'10,Pryor 5'11,Jarrett 6'0 & yes Miles 6'0. Bowles wants to take his plethora of DB options & match-up w/ the opposition. Not having a single safety above 6 foot could pose a problem against certain opponents. Martin at least gives the Jets an option if they need to "go big".
So we take a position of relative strength and weaken it once again(wr). Meanwhile we have worst te situation in the league and our backup ot's suck. We need to get our fucken priorities straight, miles was a good player.
Damn, we may just well mail the season in, take the 0-16 and start thinking about who we will draft with that 1st overall pick.
