I fear the same, I've been waiting for the moment for a while now, but this feels legit. I really hope I'm wrong.
2 solid comebacks last night for us but as usual a guy that shouldn't be on the team blows the game. I would've rather seen Alvarez in that spot. If he blew the game I could've at least accepted it. O'Flatery has had his chance and ten other chances to go with it. Really was a game that should've been won. As for the Nats, I think last nights game says a lot more about the Braves. What that team is doing is a joke. I hope they never get back to respectability. You let your closer (who's been pretty damn good so far) pitch 2 whole innings and all of the sudden "forget") how to throw strikes? I'm not one for conspiracy but it wouldn't shock me if their manager told the kid to blow that lead. den dekker should've been dead meat but got a meatball to hit. Even still I'm not ready to say the tide is turning until the Nats beat us or the lead is within 3.

Apparently there was a strange Matt Harvey press conference where he is effectively siding with his agent, and might hold himself out of the postseason or once he hits the 180 innings cap.
If Harvey does get shutdown and doesnt pitch in the postseason then this team should really look into trading him this offseason. Met fans would be livid (and rightfully so) if this turns into another Strasburg situation. His value would command a ton back. A ton!
I knew Boras wasn't speaking out without Matt being on the same page, but I was just trying hard to bury my feelings. I understand wanting to protect your future earnings prospect but for fuck sake it's the playoffs on the line we are talking about.
You have to question Terry starting both Young and Campbell in the lineup tonight. These guys are late inning fill-ins only. It makes you think about what we had 2 months ago.
I wouldnt get into a Brady style battle with him about it. If that's what he wants shut him down. He won't re-sign with the Mets anyways as long as Boras is his agent.
It's just bullshit considering his attitude toward being skipped and being taken out of games earlier than he should've. Where was him being concerned about the 180 limit against the Phillies in May or the Marlins in June when he could've and should've been skipped. Also the 6 man rotTion is going to happen mostly to protect him. Now it's crunch time and the talk is innings limits? Doesn't add up.
Yeah this all seems very about-face, all of a sudden, and just awful timing. He's showing a lot of selfishness but I've always got the impression that Matt likes being the villain.
Mets teeing off on Miami....nice to see this after one of their top pitchers is opting out of the playoffs
Colon better be left out there to finish this one off. I remember the last time we had a huge lead in Miami. No fucking around tonight TC!
I'm hoping for a complete game or at least, Colon pitching into the 8th. As long as TC doesn't start another fire by summoning another Met Arsonist from the BP.
Watch him now pull a Revis (circa 2009 minicamp) and come up with some phantom injury to protest having to pitch
I'm picturing the scene when we clinch the NL East. People are in the clubhouse whooping it up ... Music blasting ... Reporters asking questions about the playoffs. Fans still in the stands waiting for curtain calls ... And there sits Matt Harvey ... Prepared to go to the Mets front office to ask them not to include him on the playoff roster. Willing to step back from all the electricity and watch his teammates soak up the post season spotlight. Yeah ... I'll believe it when I see it.
At this rate there's no way I can see Harvey resigning with the Mets when his contract is up. I can see a scenario where Alderson trades Harvey for a bat too. There's a lot of bad blood developing between the Mets and Boras. Harvey with his attitude may be punching his ticket out of town.
