lets agree to disagree, go do some reading on how the NFL docs are worded. The judge went against precedent. Why? Fame and fortune?? Follow the $$
I'll try. Brady was found "guilty" by Goodell (under whatever standard you'd like to use) of two things. First, it being "more probable than not" that he was "generally aware" of something related to the treatment of the footballs. In the past, this was punished as such, among other cases - zero for Jay Feely in similar situation; zero games for Vikings/Panthers heating them, etc). Second, he was punished for "non-cooperation. In the past, this was punished as such, among other cases - $50k fine for Favre in sexting situation and zero for Gostkowski not turning his phone over. You can't just change the rules without "notice". In the non-cooperation case, Wells even explicitly told Brady he would not be punished for not handing over his phone. It would be like a judge ruling that you deserve life in prison for shoplifting a pack of gum. This wouldn't survive on appeal. Google "law of the shop" as it pertains to these scenarios. Brady never claimed ignorance of the law. He claimed no law was broken, and Kessell argued that even if the "non-cooperation" law was, the penalty violated the "notice" requirement.
So now the judge got paid off? This is a message board, and you've already proven your lunacy, but this takes the cake. You are the Fox News / MSNBC of message board participants. You have no credibility.
I'm tired of the deflections, deception & denial from those turds up north.I live in New England & I never heard a single Patriot fan;Not one..including my stubborn mother in law who knows caca about the sport or about the history of the Patriots unethical ways, show any sort of care, empathy or respect for the integrity of the game or what's right & wrong. It was always about "It's just deflated balls" or "Brady didn't do it". Absolutely no counter arguments w/ any legitimacy beyond "4 rings bitch" & "your team sucks". I don't like to generalize fans but they are undoubtedly the most disrespectful, vile, ignorant pieces of crap fans in ANY major sport; Come to think of it...they mirror their scumbag owner, smug QB & sinister head coach. Pure scum. I love my Jets & I love the game. If the jets losing or any other team winning meant a greater good for the league..I'd grit my teeth & embrace it. This is WWE level horseshit. The spoiled smug little brats mocking everyone w/ their "above the law" garbage. I've decided to take a year off from spectating in protest of yesterday's decision. Sure maybe the Jets go 16-0 win it all & make me look bad. But at this point I'd rather give up my #1 hobby & joy than see those scumbags get lavished by the national media, act oblivious, houlier than thou...and shove their tainted wins down everyone's throat. It's classless reprehensible filth. Make no mistake, the truth WILL come out eventually. It maybe long after BB/Brady/Kraft's time..but it will come out. Time expiration will not exonerate the backlash. If the rings weren't already tainted they will be. Karma is an F'N bitch turds to the north.
The NFL spent months preparing for this and still couldn't figure how to get it right (again). With all of their legal expertise and millions of dollars of resources you would have thought they'd have been totally ready for everything but they weren't. As for Kraft. He can scream all he wants but he's on the side of the owners. And that's why he settled. That's where his bread is buttered. Tom Brady can always be replaced.
I don't see why a judge would overturn a stupid 4 game suspension. I hate the Patriots even more now. Why didn't they just take their punishment like men? Now they are the most disgraceful franchise in the NFL.
Stamp your feet a little harder. It won't have any effect on anything, but you'll feel a little better.
But they do when a perp has priors, Obama was just talking about the 3 strike law and how it was unfair because the laws broken are now being removed. The Pats have plenty of priors to use for this.
You're wrong. Under the CBA the NFL met their burden. They did not have to show "beyond a reasonable;e doubt" or "by a preponderance of the evidence". This was not a criminal or civil trial. You want to argue that policies or procedures weren't followed, have at it. GTFO if you are trying to come in here and say (i) Brady wasn't guilty or (ii) the NFL did not meet it's standard. Brady directed the deflation of footballs to gain an unfair competitive advantage. Full stop. He cheated and got off on a technicality. He's your Ryan Braun, your OJ. Go celebrate THAT victory, your cheating scumbag of a franchise deserves at least that. _
I didn't say either. And since I prefaced my comments earlier that I was not looking to get into a cat-fight, or the like, I will smile and chuckle at the rest of your post. Not necessary to reply to you or BurningElvii at this point.
There are low info people on both sides of this but lets be clear: 1) Ignoring a standard (civil, criminal, NFL, whatever you decide at the moment), you cannot say with certainty that he is guilty or innocent. Full stop. 2) Roger broke the labor fairness laws. This is a win for the people, embrace the victory.
call me a troll, whatever, but i've brought the facts, and only the facts. The judge vacated the 4 games...... NFL and the 31 owners didn't agree (no comment on the 32nd owner). Brady was guilty of violating his player contract by signing it, he was on notice and could be punished by commissioner. Wells had no authority to tell Brady he'd be punished, he was an outside council, not NFL. Brady is fighting his own stupidity and his hiding behind excuses. He still hasn't talked about this, what men go silent??? I'm pretty sure Nash argued with Berman in the rebuttal over Brady's rights under his contact and CBA, but it seems Berman didn't want to listen to law. He administered his own outlaw justice. Why this got deaf eared, we can only blame Nash and team for not pushing it harder, i am guessing they (on the appellate court) will on this ground. 15. INTEGRITY OF GAME. Player recognizes the detriment to the League and professional football that would result from impairment of public confidence in the honest and orderly conduct of NFL games or the integrity and good character of NFL players. Player therefore acknowledges his awareness that if he accepts a bribe or agrees to throw or fix an NFL game; fails to promptly report a bribe offer or an attempt to throw or fix an NFL game; bets on an NFL game; knowingly associates with gamblers or gambling activity; uses or provides other players with stimulants or other drugs for the purpose of attempting to enhance on-field performance; or is guilty of any other form of conduct reasonably judged by the League Commissioner to be detrimental to the League or professional football, the Commissioner will have the right, but only after giving Player the opportunity for a hearing at which he may be represented by counsel of his choice, to fine Player in a reasonable amount, to suspend Player for a period certain or indefinitely; and/or to terminate this contract.
kindly go quote the fairness laws trumping a signed CBA and established workplace rules? An NFL player is like an at will employee. You folks are embarrassing. It's a win for the NFL players in their unfair, they signed off on labor contract, that is all.
I really hate to admit it but i agree. He is guilty as he was found guilty by the league. AS to if he was really fucking with the balls? Most likely but admittedly there is not 100% proof. But Roger as always came off as if he was making shit up as he went. I am glad he finally got bitch slapped, it just upsets me it took the team that has looked coddled for the last 15 years to do it.
The investigation was not a trial--rules of evidence for a criminal or civil case do not apply. Full stop. Don't be the naive troll, you, of all the Pats trolls, are better than that. Brady directed footballs to be deflated to gain a competitive advantage. You know it. Brady got off on a technicality. _
Just to put things in proper perspective for you, you're arguing that the league can just make sh1t up out of thin air and enforce it and actually hoping that happens. Try not to inhale any fumes this weekend, lots of BBQ's going.
