He still holds ill will towards us for cutting him...He is a cool guy, I'd sign him. Quigley does suck as the season goes on and especially in cold weather.

Dude's leg goes all Geno on us in the cold.

Sign Weatherford. Dude should have never been let go in the first place. Make whatever amends you have to (usually money works really well) and send Quigley down under.

i get that point but at the same time, he doesnt have to move his family and gets a job. he should jump at the opportunity. money heals most wounds.

and i agree about the cold. hes awful. as a team that will have to rely on its D at times to win games, we need a better guy back there. field position is extremely important for a defensive team. its really a no brainer move.

I think he didn't like Mike Westoff. He's gone now, so hopefully he'd be up for coming back.

    Sign him ASAP

Quigly sucks donkey balls and I get mad at every punt- I know it's going to to be a shank

His long punts are all shanks that roll weird

Correct me if I'm wrong...when Weatherford was here people were CONSTANTLY calling for him to be cut. I remember him sending many punts sailing into the endzone, or shanked off the side of his foot. Not saying Quigley is much better, but I do not see the point in signing Weatherford.

This. Very rarely do teams get rid of great players if there's no downside to keeping them (high salary etc.).

lol the Giants cut him.....They don't exactly have massive depth with pro bowl punters right now.If they don't have room for him why should we?He is on the downside of his carrer right now ....he has lost more then just a step

Seems like the Giants are talking to the Steelers regarding their Punter, so a trade is probably happening. That's why Weatherford had to go.

while he probably has, (havent watched a ton of giants preseason and definitely havent focused on him) you cant sit there and believe hes not a better option than quigley. quigley is a horrendous punter

One thing about Weatherford, he's not afraid to stick his helmet in the mix to make a tackle. As for his punting, I'm not sure whether there's any improvement over what we have now. Traditionally, the Jets have never had great (or even good) punting with the possible exception of Jennings.
