If Flynn looks healthy he makes the team and Johnson gets cut it would seem.

The guy looked very quick tonight. I liked what I saw from him.

Johnson's style won't hold up against starters. He's no Michael Vick.

    Flynn will get the job.

My thoughts exactly.. I hate that style of QB, too. Even though Flynn isn't great, i'd keep him as a backup.

They both are fine options as the 4th QB. Who cares who gets it really? They have equal potential imo.

Flynn is going to be the backup, I'm not even sure why this is being debated. He was here first and he just had to show them enough tonight not to lose that status (and he did.)

Josh Johnson can run with the ball, but his accuracy was spotty. He was overthrowing players too many times.

People saying JJ has high potential, different type of QB, etc. They're thinking about it completely wrong. Whoever wins the job is ONE Fitzpatrick injury away from starting. This isn't about developing JJ or potential. These guys will be here for a couple weeks into the regular season until Geno returns. Then they will be gone (most likely having not played a snap). I trust Flynn's arm. I don't trust JJ's arm. As a backup QB, you need to have the ability to throw the ball. It's a no brainer.

The writing is on the wall. Matt Flynn is your backup.

Josh Johnson did some nice things but yeah, I don't see him beating out Flynn. Doesn't hurt having him on speed dial though, he looked a little bit like Vick.

It has been refreshing watching all of our QBs this preseason. Addition by subtraction. Thank you IK.

I would keep both Flynn and Johnson and throw Smith on IR but that still leaves one QB too many.

I honestly in my drunken stupor kept thinking I was watching Fitzpatrick.

i still would not rule out j.j. as the week 1 backup. Its not just x's and o's its dollars and cents. Was flynn that much better that mac is going to pay him for a whole season when he probably won't be here past week 4.
Not sure flynn is a lock

Fitz, Geno, Petty .... Flynn, JJ. JJ looked quick but his throws were all over the place. Are we keeping 4 QBs to start the season or are some of you thinking Petty will make it to the practice squad?

He wont make it to the PS. He's gotta be on the roster or he'll be gone.

Exactly. So Flynn and JJ have to go. Flynn looked great last night, but I'm not risking getting Petty through waivers just so we can have a viable 3rd string QB.

Week 1 Petty will be the backup. Week 2 it will be either Flynn or Johnson.

Week 1 can be johnson. He is not vested. His salary is not guaranteed for the year if he is on the week 1 roster

I'm not very bright, so type slowly. Are you saying we will carry 4 QBs until Geno gets back?
