    Gives the Pats a week to check him out. I know they don't want Edelman handling all the punt returns this year.

    It's likely a conditional pick in the event he makes the roster. No roster no pick, but its smart for the saints to have a chance to get ANYTHING for someone they intended to cut. NE needs bodies for the 4th preseason game. He'll once again be looking for work in a week.

    In other unimportant news, I randomly checked the bucs depth chart yesterday to se see how Brandon Dixon was doing, and he's the 5th cb it looks like.

    NEP is famous for signing players and then releasing them a week later. They brought him in for a look. He did return a kickoff about 100 yards last season. And he wasn't a terrible 4th round pick.

    Traded for a conditional 7th round pick in 2018 per ESPN. Smells like the Saints were definitely cutting him loose. Probably won't make the roster unless some drastic injuries occur before deadline day.

    If he was cut, he'd have to clear waivers.
